It will pass. Like Julie says it always passes!!

And just because - your inner junkie is trying to trick you because it knows you are winning.

Think of your girls.

Nicotine has trained you to want nicotine. The training is in a primitive part of your brain that will cause panic if you don't give it nicotine. This is the addiction. Do not underestimate your enemy.

That hardest part, especially early in your quit, is your mind and how much of our lives we associated with smoking.  It's this part of the quit which is much harder than the actual physical withdrawal.  You had a massive craving it sounds like your marching your way through it.  The good news is, the longer you stay quit, the less frequent these episodes become and certainly less intense.

This is your body's way of reminding you that you're an addict but also that you're beating this addiction and will soon put it to sleep for good.

Oh Marti ..... hug hug hug hug hug hug hug

You get to a point in your life where you think you know exactly how it's gonna be from now on and BANG ... something comes along and bites you on the arse.  It can happen to anyone of us at any time and it could be any thing that comes along, but in all of this Marti, you have accomplished something that you cannot treat as nothing, you have quit smoking...this is a big thing and you know it is.  So with all the crap that may be going on at least keep that one thing for you.  You have fought too hard to throw it away, and if you can do that, you will be able to fight for anything else you want.

Thinking of you Marti.....be strong....you know you want to be.....don't let yourself down.

You guys are awesome. Within less than two minutes you guys were all over this thread to help her.  :)

Marti, you just faced down this addiction, looked straight into it's eyes and beat it back down like the boss you are.  You're stronger because of this.  Great job!

Marti:

Thank you.

Really!

Thank you.

When people post an SOS it gives me peace of mind to know if I need to, it's ok to do.

That it's the right thing to do.

So, thank you. :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
