marry your son lol

Are you young enough to give me grand kids? He is single and available and would make a wonderful hubby.  Though he might call you more than the hubby you have now because he is like his dad!  lol

Specialist and sick does not sound good.  Will keep you in my prayers.  We are going to my nieces wedding party.  She was married in New Zealand but having a party here.  Couldn't take the RV cause going down in the 20s.  Hotel was expensive and they still want .$30. a night for parking.  Had to board 3 dogs.  Very expensive wedding party!

Update: Nothing bad... iron levels are up a bit but hemoglobin level is still critically low. Have a new hormone medication, have a tweak to the other medications but need to do a course of steroids first... will be having a series of iron transfusions over the coming weeks... ON the plus side there has been no growth to the tumors, especially the one they are most worried about. The cardiologist thinks the endocrinologist/oncologist is taking the wrong approach and that is why there is no cardio improvement. The Iron Transfussions (so high does iron given with blood transfusions) are supposed to lift the iron count high enough for him to OK surgery but he is concerned so he has written me a referral to "his mate". So .... same-same-different.... still have the endo wanting to take the slow and stead non-surgery approach which originally I was all for but now I just want it over with.... its just feels a bit to risky with all the other issues. OH well will get the second (really 3rd) opinion and see how we go. Maybe the iron transfusions will be the kick start I need for big leaps forward. Oh and the bastard banned all fish and shell fish.... well there goes christmas lunch... think I might have to forget that dictate on 25th of December... especially when my brother pulls out the crays he dived for fresh.... not letting this wreck my chrissie dinner.

The cardio did change the iron supliment I am on to this liquid stuff (foul) but he said take one every morning about an hour before any food or drink (except water) and then if I want to go for a walk or a swim or shopping take another hit about an 40mins before hand so your blood has a fresh hit of iron and should be able to carry more oxygen which will reduce the tachycardia events... we hope.. so will try that cardio health hack.

@Linda Thomas ... have fun at the wedding... dang the expense... you only live once and you can't take it with you... celebrate and enjoy yourself.

Oh Jo,  I did not realize you were dealing with such serious health issues.  I will not only be praying for you, I will be praying for the wisdom of your doctor's.

Get a 2nd and 3rd opinion and get a Dr. You are comfortable with.  When I dealt with breast cancer, I even put a tape recorder in my pocket so I could be sure of what I was hearing.  You really have to be your own advocate.

Actually had a wonderful time tonight.  Great food and band and it was such a thrill to celebrate my nieces happiness.  She walked away from her wedding to her childhood sweetheart, a week before the event, two years ago. It was a difficult thing to do but she was right.  This guy she married is wonderful.

Now we are back at the hotel, enjoying a dog free evening.

Having experience with a locally advanced agressive cancer that left no option but radical surgery it’s a bit diferent to think of a cancer that requires kinder treatments. Surgery, radiation and chemo, invasive and radical to the extreme. So if your able have treatments that are less a burden...

Hang in there

We don't really do turkey (I know lots of Aussies do) but because I have a huge family we just bring a plate and have a cold dinner (except for the pud) which is usually platters of cold roast chook, sliced ham from the bone, prawns, crayfish (lobster), that sorta thing.... There are slices ribbon sandwiches and sushi (yep, especially if chrissy day is on a Friday as lots of us don't eat meat on fridays all year round).... salads....and its just a big help ya self when ya feel hungry event. As people arrive they put out their plates and ya just grab something when you want a feed. Desserts are the same... there will be a pavlova or 3, trifle, stripy jellies, frogs in ponds, cheese cakes, a traditional christmas pud, an icecream christmas pud, kitchen decorators (caramel tart things), chocolate ripple cake, fairy bread, chocolate crackle christmas trees, mars bar slice, lemon slice, mini christmas puddings dipped in chocolate, chocie royal chrismats puds, icecream cake christmas pudding, mince pies, dips and nibbles and chips and lollies and nuts...always nuts.... and fruit platters... love the fruit platters.

I love Christmas dinner. Turkey, pigs in blankets, stuffing, sprouts, roast parsnips, roast potatos, gravy, cranberry sauce = heaven

Lentil and chestnut soup for starters and sticky toffee pud for afters.

Oh Frog in the Pond is traditional Aussie Party food... the kids (and my dad) will riot if there is no frog in the pond and no fairy bread.... Frog in the Pond is a choccie frog in pond which is a cup of green or blue jelly.... usually green cos it tastes nicer... see....

Right now I am eating a bowl fresh berries (strawberries, black berries, raspberries and blueberries) with some home made vanilla yoghurt... YUM! ... well the blackberries are a bit hit and miss... but the raspberries are phenomenal and we are all having a good giggle when someone pulls a cats bum face when they get a sour blackberry.
