How long do the headaches last?

Roopy

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I am just over 3 weeks quit and am still experiencing headaches. They had gone away for most of last week and now they are back. I am curious if others had headaches last this long? I suppose they may not be related to my quit but I don't tend to get headaches often so I assume this is the cause.

Also curious if others experienced water retention? I seem to blow up a few pounds and when I work out it completely goes away but then it's back the next day. I am drinking lots of water each day and keeping very active but if anyone has advice on this too I'd be very grateful! :)

Thanks all!

I seem to remember that headaches began about a month after I quit and lasted maybe 3 weeks.  The good news is that all side effects eventually disappeared and the positive benefits of restorative health began to far outshine any temporary annoyances.  Keep strong and focused Roopy.  Better days lie ahead.

Aww sorry you are going through this Roopy...I don't think I suffered with these symptoms...

If you are worried about anything health wise...a trip to the doctors will ease your worries...

BKP...is right...all temporary...it's amazing how quitting effects the body...

Hope someone comes along ,who can help you better..

You are almost a month in now so yes, those cravings should be getting a little less intense and infrequent. This alone may easy the headache symptom you are having.  My worst one was sinus issues that lasted a while but eventually went away, I was confused because I figured my sinuses should have been happier once I quit but, as others have said, quitting plays havoc with our body systems for a while until it settles back into "normal" mode :)

Hey Roopy. I'm still getting mild, almost like tension headaches. It's nothing earth shattering for me, just wish it would go away. The good news for me is that I have only had two migraines since I started quitting and for me that is a huge victory.

Glad your still doing good with this
