I think I’m going to have toast and jelly for breakfast, perhaps a banana too.

Or maybe, that banana would be best suited in a bowl of cornflakes. Oh sheesh, we don’t have any corn flakes. We have life, regular life, not cinnamon life. I like life but cornflakes are better with banana.

Maybe I’ll have life, with banana and toast and jelly.

But first, coffee…

My wife makes strawberry preserves. We are almost out, down to the last jar. Strawberry season is upon us. Time to make more.

I skipped the preserves, the toast and the cerial. I didn’t walk last night LOL.

Just a banana and coffee.

Maybe I’ll have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch.

My mother used to make strawberry preserves too but she's just too old now to do that stuff but oh man!! Yummy!!!! I miss getting a couple of jars of her stuff each year. Nothing like home made preserves :D

And, where are you that Strawberry season is upon you?

There's nothing growing here for another 4 months.

My wife uses my moms recipe.

First couple of times she made it,  it turned out syrupy, ice cream topping LOL. But she has pretty much perfected the art.

I was wrong, we still have another month or so before strawberry season.

Let’s just say, I don’t live where that white stuff lays very often LOL

My mother's preserves were a little  "runny" at times too but the taste .... oh, the taste :D

We may be frozen solid where I am but ... dinner shows up daily because, there's no other food anywhere :15_yum:

We just feed them because they would starve otherwise. For whatever reason, they don't fly south for winter any more. Then temps go to -20 or -30 for a few months and guess what?? No Food!! You'd think they would know that? It probably costs me $500.00 per year to feed these ungrateful dinner entrees. I'm just glad the geese don't land and feed. There's thousands of those around here all year long. Not sure what they feed on during winter but I'm just glad I'm not paying for that!

I had peanut butter&banana oatmeal this morning.  Steel cut oats.  Whole milk, because I don't mess with that other stuff anymore.  Fire it up and then mix a couple of tablespoons of peanut butter in and top it off with a sliced banana...good to go.

Fats, protein, fiber, and carbohydrates all in one tasty bowl.  That'll make your bull run in the morning.

There is a serious problem here.

NO HOUSE should have certain cereals because they SUUUUUUCK...

Let's see -

Corn flakes tops the list. those are so boring and dull that their very existence pisses me off. Plus they get soggy INSTANTLY.

Life cereal - More like NO Life cereal. BOOOORING.

Bran flakes. There is a legal requirement that anyone under age 60 is not allowed to eat them.

Cheerios - Good God these things are about as exciting as having sex through a hole in the bed sheet.

Rice Crispies - suck.

And there is one that is SOOOO bad that it cannot be called cereal. it is Kashi. That stuff is made from dead grass, leaves, twigs, and probably squirrel turds.

My brother eats it. He is not hurting for cash so not like he doesn't have a choice. I kind of feel bad for him. he is healthy as can be, not like kid's cereal would hurt.

A self-respecting human being knows that a household cereal selection should be more like -

Krave, Froot Loops, Cap'n crunch, cookie crisp, cocoa crispies,

When I was a kid, I would gauge the coolness of someone's home by what cereals they had.

In our house right now we have double chocolate Krave and also Oreo cereal, huge boxes. I hurt my back carrying them in. HUGE boxes.

TLDR -

Sugar laden cereal - GOOD

Whole wheat/healthy - BAD.

Screw this healthy bullcrap. We already gave up smoking, what more do our bodies want?

If you have Corn Flakes, Bran Flakes, Cheerios, or Rice Crispies, throw them away immediately.

Give it a try sometime.  Peanut butter is one of the simple pleasures in life.

Speaking as a backpacker and camper...you can never have too much dried fruit.  I'm particularly fond of blueberries in oatmeal.  Make yourself a cup of that and some coffee that has roughly the same consistency as motor oil and your ready for a long day on the trails.

Raisin Bran is the best cereal on the market.  You're entitled to your opinion, but if you disagree, you're wrong!

Raisin bran is OK at least, there is enough sugar and raisins to cover up the horrid dull taste of the bran flakes.

BTW there used to be some cereal called Krinkles. They got rid of it though cause the clown just wasn't creepy enough.
