It's still Thursday here on the west coast USA, so I'll just say good "pre" morning to all of you non smokers out there ahead of me.

Its not even noon here in Ontario Canada....and the sun is shining :)

I walked to the coffee shop and bought a fancy caramel latte......and now Im just waiting for my boomerang child and the baby to leave. :)

They are going out for the entire day.....so I am going to empty my livingroom of ALL the baby stuff and pretend its still an adult only space.

Then I am going to lay on the couch with my new book. :)

Thats a good friday.

isn't 'Good Friday' when some religious folk celebrate a beardy chap getting nailed to a cross? Weird definition of 'good', unless they didn't like his haircut or something, I think yours is much better! ;)

I digress...

Being scared of triggers is fine for a while but at some point you need to face them, personally, I would go out and just have an escape route planned. You seem like a pretty tough cookie so make sure you've got some CSI or something recorded at home and go out and have some fun... don't get too drunk.

If you feel the urge to have a smoke GO HOME and watch CSI.

Make sure you tell your friends as you arrive of your plan, explain you may just have to leave, and that none of them should offer you a smoke and not to try to convince you to stay when you say you have to leave.

For me, it was all about being in control, so be in control, you will almost certainly want to smoke if you go out, but you can stop yourself simply by leaving the situation behind.

Rob is right. You have stopped smoking - not living.

By all means be careful - but enjoy your better skin, more energy and non stinkiness! :P

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
