I keep telling myself its just my mind playing tricks on me. I literally cant stand it. My entire body is a chill bump.

I feel like I need something. Something.

Think I'll go for a quick walk before I slip into panic mode.

Walks help with my anxiety.

If that doesn't help I'll shower. I cant smoke in the shower.

That's it Octain!! Distract yourself in whatever ways you can. Do anything but smoke. These urges are strong in the early days but they don't last forever. It is just your addicted brain screaming at you to feed that deadly addiction. You can beat it by being smarter which is exactly what you are by coming up with the distractions you mentioned. Carry on and keep close to the board here. We want you to succeed!

Good call Octain.  Physical activity is great for dealing with craves.  It's also worth noting that exercise has been shown in numerous studies to be more effective at combating stress, anxiety, and depression than any drug on the market.  Movement is medicine.

Just keep doing what you're doing.

Getting punched in the right cheek didn't work for 6 days, so the monster goes for the left. Now I have to get used to that cheek being smacked!

Oh the craziness!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
