what's your favourite benefit you've experienced since quitting?

For me there is a long list, but number one is feeling that I control myself 100%, and that I'm no longer a slave to nicotine addiction.

I remember making a promise to myself, that if I could quit smoking, I would never doubt myself again, and that I would learn to be proud of myself.

Thinking about the big picture: "freedom" would rate up there pretty high ...

... but The Sarges (both) would rank Better Boners [1] right up there in the top two at least.

Easy Peasy

The tastes buds are better and I love my food but it tastes so much better now

Freedom from the chains of having to plan in advance, checking out places to smoke, having to stop on road trips etc

Not being stared at like you have 2 heads from passers by

Smell better

the list is endless...

I don't stink anymore and hubby can't get enough smooches now;)

I've not had to leave my babies while playing to go smoke soo much, they love hugging and kissing me now, 8 year old had stopped kissing me cos I stank, we had 3 days out last weekend and it was great not worrying about how I would get to smoke, normally I would not have wanted to go cos I would have struggled to find somewhere to smoke and then not enjoy it with people eyeballing me, normally I would cut the day out short to get home but we were the last people leaving most days and I enjoyed every minute of it and especially beating himself at crazy golf lol

I love my fresh breath and my teeth are looking much better allready.

I could go on all day the list is sooooo long!!!

Doreen I don't suppose you have any before and after photos of your legs/ankles (not perving) to show the improvement after quitting, I am sooo curious to see and I'm sure it would help others, no bother if it's too personal xxx

To know my kids will never know their Daddy as being a smoker and the endless trips to the dentist. And I am not talking about some simple cavities. I am seriously thinking of posting all my dental records in a blog, just to help people that are on the fence. It would amaze you.

In my 6 month quit, not one tooth problem. Nothing. Two perfect checkups.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
