Hi,

Hopefully Im posting this in the right spot for an intro....let me start off by saying Im super happy about being here. I have tried numerous times to quit smoking for several years and even got addicted to the nicotine patches at one point. Its been a long road but am hopeful and confident, this will by my final and last attempt at quitting and be forever.

A little background...I am currently doing the Allen Carr Online Quit Smoking Course....actually, to be honest, Im working going thru it for the 3rd time. The first time I did the course, I was absolutely amazed at how easy it actually was to quit.....went for 7 days without even an urge to smoke and for some stupid reason, I had that ONE cigarette. I want that feeling back....it was AMAZING! I was at total peace with quitting and I know I can do this again. So, here I am in this forum for support to stay on the NOPE train :) (Yes, Ive been doing a little reading on the forum :) )

A little more background which I think plays a part of this being so difficult for me. I actually quit for about 6 months or so about a year and half ago after ending up in the hospital with an attack which come to find out, I have emphysema. It was easy to quit then too but there again, I had that ONE cigarette and off the races I went eventually. The reason I say this plays a part of it being hard to quit is because I guess I can honestly say I hate myself for not quitting years ago and am in a vicious cycle of wanting to quit but beating myself up because I didnt years ago and also because everytime I quit, I start back up again....not sure if this is making any sense.......

My plan is to complete the Allen Carr Course again, be active on here and I have also looked into a  YouTube Subliminal Videos to help me through. The ULTIMATE plan is to quit and quit once and for all.....I can do this, I know I can......

Thank you all for reading and listening, looking forward to being a part of this community :)

Welcome aboard Lisa.

That cycle is vicious and a real pain in the ass.  With the demands of feeding a nicotine addiction and the self loathing that accompanies continuing to smoke, it is easier to quit than it is to continue smoking.

Break the cycle.  You have all the power over cigarettes and freedom is a matter of choice.

Trust the process.  Enjoy the ride.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
