Nice bump. Thanks Sazerac.

-Reading and more reading. I spent hours a day with my online support group reading - and educating myself about the addiction in the process.

-My online support group.

-Reading Alan Carr.

-Closet cleaning.

-Pillow punching.

-Silly little walks: 3 times around the perimeter of my house till I felt more in control.

-Regular exercise (a daily walk).

-Ridiculous dancing in the living room to favorite tunes turned up loud.

Love this post! Mine are:

Ice cold water, as much as possible

Support and learning from others on both support boards

Working out (assisted with the rage!)

Reminding myself I don't HAVE to do anything. I choose..

Taking it in baby steps... minute by minute at times until I felt confident in saying NOPE for the full day

And knitting.... or as I like to call it "Yarn knots on sticks"... (I am not good at knitting)

-Knowledge (knowing I'm an addict)

-Chocolate

-Patience (taking the te to breath before I react)

-More chocolate

-Confidence (that I'm awesome!)

My self esteem has been through the roof since I quit. I honestly don't think I've ever felt this good or been so proud of myself in my whole life.

If you are lurking or thinking about quitting, please pack your tool box and get started! Borrow some of our tools if you need, but don't let this chance pass you by!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
