"Can't" is the most overused word in the English language.

Here in America, and I'm assuming across most if not all developed nations, there are currently more ex-smokers than current smokers.  If quitting was some impossible dream, as it's often made out to be, those numbers would be impossible to achieve.

To quote Roger Miller: All you got to do is put your mind to it...knuckle down, buckle down, do it, do it, do it.

Great post. I would say you don't even have to want to. Just do it. I never want to go to work but I do. I never want to clean my bathroom but I do. Just never smoke again...and you are good.

Yeah, it will suck (just like going to work or scrubbing the toliet does). Yeah, you will be very uncomfortable for a while. But anyone can do this...ex smokers aren't stronger than smokers. We aren't less addicted. We didn't discover some magical formula. We just, every day, didn't smoke anymore. That's it.

If I can do this (a known wussy), you can do this...so do it.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
