I´m indifferent to smoking.

See my ticker on my signature. I just realized im indifferent to smoking and it only gets better by the month.

From 3 days of absolute hell to three weeks of no sleep to three months of regret to 5 months of anxiety to 10 months of romance to indifference by the end of one year.

I remember the idea of getting a smoke lurking for months, looking at the tobacco machine with awe every time i went for a coffee and fixating on people smoking like they were having the time of their lives.

Now, indifference, and a sense of gratitude and pride along the certainty i have to protect my quit from everyday life by not having a puff.

Newbies, keep climbing that rope.

Way to go!!!  :D It's so good to see this post - it gives me so much reassurance that this gets better and better the longer you stick with it. You've done a beautiful job with your quit. You should be super proud. Celebrate that indifference every single day. That's truly freedom! So proud of you and so inspired by you!

It takes some balls and a lot of perseverance, but in the end its so well worth it. This quitting thing is all benefits now, all kinds of benefits i tell you! Riders on the train keep climbimg that rope and before you know it youll look back, smile and ask what was all the fuss about. Its so much better not being a smoker.  ;)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
