Doreensfree....you are the one I would say inspired me the most! I am saying look at her! She did it after all the years.....I can too!

Today I went to lunch with someone in my office and I loved how I didn't have to worry about how to find time to smoke before and of course after! Not saying I didn't want to but I want to all the time :(

A taste of freedom. Tomorrow is my day off....sigh....home alone..so I have a lot of housework planned and if that doesn't pan out because it's my Wednesday...work here at home..do stuff then..smokebreak...I have some awesome beads to work up....and a quilt to start.Supposed to be cold and rainy so outside so outside will not be nice.

Rambling....sorry

Good idea about the mall but I live in a very small town with no mall . I did need to get groceries today so I did that and I also went to Goodwill and to the dollar store into another consignment shop for something to do..... But leisurely non-smoking environment .

I have most of my housework done so now I am sort of reworking my terrarium and other little odds and ends , trying to stay out of my normal routine .

I would say it is all working only because I haven't smoked but I am beside myself with anxiety ! I just feel weird but I know that is to be expected to

Keep telling yourself..all these strange feelings are only temporary.. While you body adjusts to the new you !!!

Your body is a bit confused at the moment..soon enough ,it will settle down..

Don't forget to treat yourself..very important..you've earned a reward ..x

Hey Parsley :) Everything you're experiencing is completely normal and temporary (as I'm sure you already know) but just thought I'd chime in and remind you of that. The anxious feeling, foggy head or fuzzy brain as some call it and irritability as well are all to be expected. One of the unexpected benefits of quiting is that we get a lot of stuff done that we might not normally do, just trying to keep ourselves busy - lol.

You're doing great and already starting to see the benefits of being a nonsmoker. Wanting to smoke constantly at this stage of your quit is pretty normal I think. I know I was that way but, those thoughts become less intense and less frequent as you progress.

Each day girds you with more resolve for the next.

Over the (very) long haul, it gets easier, though it may be difficult to point to a day and say, "yeah, that one was easy."

Time will eventually be your ally.

Yes! You're doing great Parsley!! You are about 8 or 9 days quit now? That;s awesome as that first week is the worst of it for sure. The whole 1st month was a bit of a head turner for me to tell the truth but that 1st week was the worst of it. Things will gradually settle down some for you and become easier to manage over the next week or so. Just keep pushing forward. Maybe also go back and enter a quite date in your profile so we can follow your progress better and help you celebrate your milestones. You deserve to be recognized for your efforts and besides, it's fun to have us all fawn over you for a bit - lol.

Anyway, great work - keep it up!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
