Oh my gosh was visiting my sister in law for Easter, now her husband quit smoking after a heart attach that almost killed him. However his sister and my sister in law quit smoking but have been vaping for the last two years. Watching them was almost worse then watching if they were to smoke a cigarette. Those things are just as addicting they both claim it makes them sick but neither can stop.  I find they gave up smoking and now walk around 24/7 with those things in their mouth...... At least with a cigarette you needed to go out side so you didn't smoke as much.  The Vaping thing they carry all the time and do it everywhere. I know some people swear by them as a means to not smoke but it creeps me out. Maybe because as a teenager I was in rehab for a freebase addiction and it just seems to similar. I know that could just be my warped interpretation but it is the way I feel.......and I will cringe every time I see these.. Just my two cents I needed to vent not Vape LOL

It's not "quitting" a damned thing.

They're still feeding the addiction, and as is my experience (Father) the user sucks down considerably more nicotine just like you noted.

I agree with all the above..I too know folks who have these in their clutches all day..

Some of them are that big..they look like musical instruments...and they have had the years..

I saw a bloke totally disapear in a big cloud of smoke..you couldn't see him..

I know we looked stupid puffing away on a cigarette..but this looks even more stupid...

I didn't walk along with my packet of smokes and lighter clutched to my chest all day...

It remind me of baby's with a pacifier...

Agreed. I tried it for a bit when my friend "quit smoking" by vaping. I vaped way more than I smoked, at a higher nicotine content as it turned out, and because I was still addicted to the nicotine, it was really easy to go back to smoking normal cigs. I was back at it within a month. And so was my friend. Not worth it.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
