Congratulations Jackie - that;s great!! Can't wait until I too can start measuring my quit in fractions of a year rather than weeks or months. Keep going and soon you'll get to that 1/2 year mark. Tell hubby to get you a couple dozen roses :)

Thank you all!  Cravings still come now and then...but very rare and they are easier each time to get out of my head.  I've had a lot of weddings and parties to attend over the last few weekends and each time, was able to enjoy the time just as much (or more) without smoking!  I've passed up numerous occasions when a friend would be outside smoking.  I also, for the first time ever, posted my quit time, money saved and cigarettes avoided numbers on social media for all of my family and friends to know (I'm so proud, never thought I could do it).  I would ONLY post on social media if I was 100% sure being a non-smoker is my new lifestyle.  I had over 40 comments from friends and family giving me even more motivation to stay quit.  I can't believe I became a quitter!!!!   Thank you ALL for your part in this and I am excited to see my ticker go up each day until one day, it says 1 year, 5 years, 10 years.....I'm here to say.

Aw well done Jackie. I know what you mean about Social Media! I did exactly the same. Once I realised it was going to stick and I was 'all in' I finally decided to put it on FB because I was so unbelievably proud. I was actually surprised by the support I received. Now if I could only get to grips with dieting.....!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
