This is my favourite slogan..

Some times repeating it hundreds of times a day..in my early quit..

My junkie brain understood this..

No matter what was happening in my life..smoking is not allowed..

NOPE !!!

You have to make up your mind that there are no circumstances in which it is okay to smoke,  Even a zombie apocolyse!

This is such a great slogan because it has to be true!  Early in my previous quits (and even early in this one), I would think to myself "if I got lung cancer, or if someone I loved passed away, I would be lucky and have an excuse to smoke again."

What kind of sicko thinks such a thing?  I bet most, if not all of you, have had a similar thought (maybe not as morbid) but its the truth.  The thing is, I no longer feel this way and there is NOTHING that can make me smoke again.  I have all the control, even if the world fell to pieces, I wouldn't smoke because its not an award or something to reward yourself with.  It's disgusting, it's harmful to not just you but others and most importantly......IT STINKS!

NOPE!

I spoke with somebody the other day who had quit smoking 12 years ago.

He said that after a while you forget that you ever smoked.

No head games, no occasional cravings.  Like it never happened.

I'm not entirely certain I can believe that but I'll let everyone know in another decade

Hey D!

My Mother will turn 97 this year in Nov. She smoked for probably 25 years and has had cancer twice in her life - she's still with us and even living on her own in a 2 story house (she's a little cranky at times but ???). You'll be just fine :) you've done the most important thing for yourself that you can do :D

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
