Hello Everyone,

My name is DeeDee. Today is my 2nd day as a non-smoker. I've been smoking for 36 years...minus a year or two that I quit. I am approaching my trigger time which is about 4:00 p.m.  Just wanted to stop in and say hello before I go find something else to do. So far so good. Thanks for listening.  See you on day 3 !

Hello DeeDee :D

Congrats on your decision to quit smoking and take back your life! Please stay close to this community as you move forward. I have found that it's a real help to have others around you who are going through the same process. It isn't easy and you really need to want to stay quit to make it long term. It does get better though the longer you can stay smoke free. Remember - Not One Puff Evere! Go to the NOPE pedge each day and remind yourself why you have made this decision. You can do it!!

Read as much as you can on this board. You'll find a lot of people going through the same things you will be. Learn from their mistakes, lean on people here for support and keep your desire to stay quit strong. We can support you but only you can actually do it.

Welcome aboard DeeDee.  Those triggers and craves present the moments when you can flex your newly acquired strength and knowledge.  Every smoking thought put aside changes you on a neurological and physical level.

Congratulations.  You've started a process that will reward you many times over.

Congrats Dee!  I think the hardest part of quitting is the initial idea to quit!  You already nailed that, so welcome aboard :).  Folks here are awesome and have supported me in my journey to stay quit, forever....not just for now :).

I found that creating a ticker can be fun and and easy motivational tool to see how much you are saving and how many nasty smokes you aren't smoking anymore.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU and please let us know if you ever need anything.  You got this!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
