So I'm trying to cut some corners cuz my hb back in school and working part time.

We bought like some kind of trimmer for our yorkie and gave him a grooming ourselves.

Cocoa looks just ridic.  Somehow, I have no idea how, he somehow got nicked on his back leg.  He's a trooper though didn't even whine.

Just squirmed around like no other.  So he does not look good at all, but it's like $70 a throw to get him groomed.  Jeez, what an ordeal.

Ty Rach.  Ordinarily he is much cuter than that. He looks like he's got some kind of disease, some patches really short.  Like he is not growing hair in places.  And it took forevs.   Jiminy crickets.

I hadn't thought of that Colleen.  We'd always just taken him to Petsmart.

Now that I've invested in the clippers I think we are stuck giving him hair cuts until we just can't stand to look at him like that though.

^^This.   Another reason why I don't have kids.

Are you living my life?  My husband is working part time now while he finishes school also.  He grooms our cockapoo.  He's getting better at it but still...I refuse to get involved.

I had 4 kids. And cut their hair. :)

Instead of saving for college like most parents do, we saved for therapy.

I was taking a drink when I read this, and water came out of my nose when I laughed.  Too funny!

Cocoa looks ok, it could be worse...could be bald...a buddy of mine Dave gave his yorkie Katy a trim...she had a crew cut...that shine will make ya crazy  hear? What ya got then is a dog with a crew cut...high and tight. Or sitting at the Potawatamie Nation Casino wondering where my money went lol, like I did tonight...party's over, it's cryin' time...that was some good shine tho. haha

It will grow back Katy looks fine now.. .:)

I don't know. The groom job doesn't look horrible to me. I'm sure he's cute no matter what. :)

Besides, the more you do it, the better you'll get!

Though glad I don't need to clip my cats - think I would prefer to pay for the kids therapy 3daa4cc69413a4a4fda538b0ecb14120_zps9b10

Hi Ava, your Cocoa is adorable!

I have a Lhasa I give a trim on Wednesdays (leggs and body one week - head, face, and around her eyes the next)... so i can sympathize - they do get "squirmy" don't they ??

Ava! The good news is, you have established that you did not miss your calling, and are not in fact a champion dog groomer undiscovered.

Cocoa still looks cute.

I used to have Yorkies. Could you just go for the washing and grooming? Then they only need clipping once a year. Otherwise - Colleen has a great idea.
