To a Tassimo coffee machine.

We don't really drink much coffee to be honest, I found since stopping smoking I didn't reach for coffee much at all, for some reason. Still, it will be nice when I do reach for one to have one of these. I notice they do hot chocolate and English breakfast tea pods too...great for the girls who are not coffee fans.

I've lost a stone and a half since my last Tenerife holiday so will make sure I limit myself to just one a day, don't want to pop it back on. I know it sounds silly but I'm really excited that I've purchased this, I love me a gadget or two.

Congrats Sharon.... Like you, since I have quit smoking, I have also cut back on the coffee....DRASTICALLY !!... Before (no exaggeration) I would drink no less than 36 cups of coffee a day.... Most of the time it was more than that. ( I have a 12 cup Bunn coffee maker and always made at least 3 pots a day, but usually 4).. I was always drinking coffee....now I make a pot in the morning.... My wife drinks a cup or two and sometimes I finish the rest....other times, I may end up dumping out the last couple,cups....

Funny how the "other drugs" (caffeine) effect us without the nicotine...

And....what's a stone weigh??.... Lol....I gained a few pounds when I quit smoking, but I also "retired" from my job, so I wasn't as active.....lately I have been extremely busy and have lost a few pounds....I used to weigh about 175 lbs...after gaining weight, I was around 190 lbs....I'm now back down to 178 lbs....... A few extra pounds actually made me feel better.. I always thought I was too thin when I was younger...I worked too many hours, didn't eat right.....and...yep...smoked to much ( ONE is TOO MUCH!)

Let me know how you like your new machine.... I am going to retire to old Bunn and get something that only makes a cup at a time... It would be more economical for me....the only feed back I have got from anyone is on the Kurig ....

So you're the same as me then Joe? Lee can't get over how he would make me a cup and I'd even forget to drink it, in the past I'd have been on my third cup by then. Yes, I'll let you know how we get on with it. Purchased some pods from the supermarket yesterday and then some, from them direct, online. Megan loves tea so got her them and then some Oreo ones for Lucy.

When I stopped smoking a stone dropped off me, felt quite unwell to be honest. I used to read about folksinger putting weight on yet it was the total opposite for me. I then had a couple of holidays and my two cocktails, a day, and fine dining caught up with me..mind I enjoyed every mouthful..lol Feel better to have got back to what I was, back to 9 stone, glad I did something about it.

Thank you Nancy...will look forward to my post dinner one tonight.

Joe I'm reporting back on how we are getting on with it...

We think it's marvellous and only wish we'd have bought one sooner now. My order of breakfast tea, hot chocolate and Oreo arrived. Those are for the girls and they are very pleased with the taste of them. Lee, and I, have stuck to the different coffee pods we purchased and they also are delicious. Some of the pods are Costa and you can tell, great taste and quality. It's also great as in the coffee packs you get the milk pods too, you pop the milk pod in first and then the coffee. The tea and the American coffee come without milk pods. You can purchase those, however I think I will just purchase a milk heater and frofer, as in the long run it would make better financial sense.

So yes, enjoying our purchase very much and I have two kettle coffees a day and my fancy machine one after dinner.

Congrats on losing a few pounds!  That is always a nice feeling.

And treats like that to ourselves are great!  I'm looking to get a French Press coffee system for Christmas.  I'll need like a tea kettle to heat the water, a new French Press and a system to get rid of the grounds easily.  I'm seriously excited about the French Press because it seems so much cleaner and fresher.

How exciting! I will look forward to you reporting how you're getting on. As you it's great that we can treat ourselves isn't it.

Treats are nice. Im thinking about buying an iphone 7. Never owned one.

You really should treat yourself Stew, you've not wasted all that money on cigs so be lovely if you get to reap the reward. I hope you do....
