Chatting with my good friend the Sarge and realised I'm at 850 days.

Back when we started I remember thinking that his 33 days ahead of me were enormous. I remember those long days. Counting each day and week.

Before long you'll Be where we are and it will feel wonderful :-)

Amazing...good for you! And the Sarge!

Thanks Nancy. Its remarkable how 1 day becomes 2, becomes 3...

After a while you have to look it up to remember :-)

I remember when you first quit Jonny and you were so enthusiastic and determined.  I had been starting to lose momentum with my quit resolve and your initial posts reminded me why I should continue to stick with it.  Now look at how far you have come.  Amazing.

and thanks for  bringing the quit cavalry for many of us

Jesus that's some quit, well done, can but dream of saying that, massive congrats.

Sue, just enjoy life and live it to the full, the quit day count will take care of itself, and you won't even notice.

it's only by chance that I realised what day I was on, and that was after looking it up just to see where I am at :-)

You are doing all the right things, just keep doing them :-)

Thanks Marti, we are virtually next door neighbours in the grand scale of the membership of this board :-)  I was in Aylesbury yesterday morning at stupid o clock doing a wedding job (Photography)

Let's just stop to think about that.

34 THOUSAND smokes.

That is a so many.  That is simply amazing.  And amazing too is the amount of poisonous chemicals we put into our bodies.

I think there is so much propaganda that it's soooo hard to quit smoking that a lot people either don't try, and keep spending money on cigs, or spend tons of money on smoking cessation tools.   While in the back of their minds thinking it's unlikely they will succeed, because such a small % of people do.  (I know I was one of those on my 3 previous quits.  My first quit was at 19.  Second at 21.  Third at 32, quite a bit of space in between 21 and 32.  Final quit at 37.)  It's a self fulfilling prophesy!  It's not the easiest thing in the world to quit, but the tough stuff is so temporary.

Thanks for being an example of being a happy ex smoker.  I'd like to think I am too.  At least most of the time ^_^

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
