Every Friday I transfer my smoking money over and on this very very Good Friday !! ( happy smoke free Easter all ) my savings are over $6,000 yay how amazing is that. I am very pleased now as a non smoker that they are so expensive here in Australia . I am saving to buy an almost brand new car.

With the money I save on all the stuff I used to disguise the smell ie gum and perfume I treat my self along the way too.

Have others been putting the money away ?? I do think it is a good way to go.

Holy cow!!  Good for you, Paula!!

I stopped keeping track and just spent it on other things I suppose.  Like expensive toothbrushes, chainsaws, axes and stuff like that.  lol

Again, great job, Paula.  :)

The Sarge started climbing about the same time he quit so ... No. No saved money - but a metric crap-ton of climbing gear and plane tickets to climbing locations were bought and paid for with money that would have gone to Phillip Morris.

Running shoes and races really rack up the $$$, too.

$6000 !

Richy Rich

Good for you Paula.

I try to buy myself something small fairly often (and not so small occasionally too lol). But in general I just have more £ in my pocket everyday which is great for going out for meals :)

Hi Paula, how about a loan! Lol

Great to here about an additional benefit from quitting!

You should be able to get yourself something really nice with that!

Good for you!

First I used the money to pamper myself....mostly with good food. Then when my weight was back to normal I started to put in a jar....it's untouchable, since I really spend $5 a day. My husband got $3 out to tip the pizza guy...I almost ripped his head off :-)

Mine...mine...mine :D  :D  :D

I am going to fulfill me a life long wish with  my "smoking money"

My husband and I have never had a car payment before in our lives.....but last October we bought a new (to Us) Car and the payment is being made with the money I would have spent on Cigarettes.  It has been a great car in the horrible MN winter too:)

That is awesome, Paula!!!

I didn't save mine in a jar either, I do little things for myself along the way.   I do get a massage once a month to six weeks.  I suppose that is how I spend my smoke money.  A massage is way healthier than smoking and feels sooooo good! :)
