Each day of my quit things are a little easier.

  • The pangs of withdrawal are easier to manage
  • Easier to breath
  • Easier to smell things
  • Easier not to smell bad
  • A bit more money makes it all easier
  • Easier to be an ex-smoker then one of them.

I'm not saying it's easy.  Just that it gets easier.

Contrast with continuing to smoke.

Continuing to smoke is easy but becomes inexorably more difficult.

Don't think you can wait until that magic moment to quit.

There is no such, or rather, its right now.

This is exactly right

Continue smoking and worrying about contracting a awful illness or a fatal illness is far more scarey.

Than a few months of feeling uncomfortable...

Allen Carr talks about ...not knowing which one starts the desease...if it had a red warning...

Would you smoke it ?...

They don't come with red warnings.... So your left wondering....

Honest to goodness.......and I mean this with all sincerity and clarity (meaning, I am not being delusional or forgetting the discomforts and challenges  of quitting)...

Seriously and truthfully............the discomfort of being a smoker....

was 100,000,000 times worse than the actual quit itself.  I cannot stress this enough

Seriously!!!

The quit was a climb...every day...one day at a time..but with it came so much joy and pride on the other moments I wasn't struggling.

On the other hand...as a smoker.. I was self loathing, and  craving, and hiding and sneaking, and pissed at myself for being "weak" and wanting to smoke when I couldn't, and wanting to quit when I was smoking..and the hacking, and the smell...and the look of disappointment of the faces on the people who cared about me....OMG...too much to list..

THAT discomfort....wow......I can't believe I survived it...NOT quitting...but being a smoker...I can't believe I lived like that

Every day

Every 20 minutes.

UGGGGHHHHHHH

Come to this side of the fence folks!  I PROMISE you it's the only time in life where the grass really is greener on the other side of the fence!  :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
