I was asked, after telling my expierence from the QT to share it with mental health clients / patients who are interested: in a theme afternoon and on a health themed afternoon.

I feel this is good. I've learning so much from you all, and Joels video's I'd love to share my knowledge. It feels like an extra commitment.

I have more then enough to work on it. If anyone has special posts, important articles please post (with credit if needed) I can use EVEYONE on board of the train.

For the record; this is where I've been meeting people with MH issues, who want to volunteer on specific talents or develeop them... I will also start the "rebuild" (Dutch 'herstel groep') group where you can talk with peers about things you have some trouble with and MOST important how to get the best outta yourself (this course starts in September)

Update: I'm doing great with a new medicine and two old ones thrown out the window... the last two of that shitty meds will be lowered later MEN I am a new woman! Not afraid / doubting my quit or fearfull towards my drunk neighbor. Very proud of me

site was down, Evelyn.

I don't know what you would like us posters to do but, I will be glad to help in any way I can.

I was thinking about maybe having a section here that referred people to different mental health sites or message boards.

Google translate duh my English is way better

If you smoke then everybody thinks ever; I would like to stop, however, and then you throw those thought overboard. Because quitting smoking is still impossible? Especially if you have a mental illness!
Right?!?! No. Quitting smoking is the easy part; the psychic process has meant difficult but then you if you have a mental illness you can never stop? Yes certainly!
The important thing to realize that your medications may need to be adjusted ... and you can discuss this with your therapist. I'll explain why this works.
If you smoke, keep your cigarettes or shag your brains in a particular position, you can moderate dopamine is increased. Dopamine is your reward center in your brains. Therefore addictions psychich sometimes so difficult to get rid of because once you smoke, "reward you with inhaling nicotine your brains."
Actually, this is keep things fooled. If you also stop you brains in spiritualized body withdrawal symptoms will worry; what is trying to avoid any smoker !!! What you as a smoker or non pulls for speed to get your butt ??? This I leave to the smokers to realize that you actually almost everything about you for your butt!
Is it logical and facing allegations that you are so afraid of the withdrawal, the fear of being without a seat? No!!!
And there is a "trick" that mr. Joel Spitzer quoted in one of his quit smoking videos on youtube: the first 3 days by dropping your blood sugar you get in no nicotine, which kept it artificially niveu.
So basically the ontwennig you feel, not literally sick of weaning '... but a low glucose. The simple solution is the first three days to drink fruit juices in small sips. That fop your brains a bit and has been a whole section of the withdrawal path !!! If juices are too acidic and you do not have diabetes consider some extra sugar in your tea to do especially the first 3 days ...
If you do this and after 3 days phasing out the sugar again you through the physical withdrawal.
I have so far had only cold turkey quit smoking - and this will surprise many, but it is the most successful way in the short and long term !!
All nicotine patches, nicotine gum, keep your withdrawal in position! You feed your brains still nicotine, only in a different way. And so you keep actually addicted.
There are some types of medications on the market that can help to stop smoking, but most people have in psychiatry is that means difficult to combine all a box full of pills with your current medications.
I will call them well short champix, welbrutin and Pamelor are known as onderseund to stop smoking.
Now the key question because I see you think cold turkey? I can not! " Oh yes. Anyone can. It's about learning to respect your addiction. Why do I smoke? If you stop, you hear that little voice nagging, begging screaming, shrieking with most big lies and excuses, 'Oh, I've had such a crisis, now I have earned one! " No! You can not smoke one there because you want the whole package ... that one cigarette is a myth that exists. You 'addiction' will at first place for all kinds of excuses:
"But it's so cozy!"
"There's someone deceased, I MUST have!"
"They may still also smoke outside? Why do not I ??? '
Apologies; The excuses are there on stabbing at one. And no warrants excuse one cigarette. And you know why? Because that excuse is not your voice, but the voice of the addiction. WANT you actually smoke ??? Want to smell like an ashtray? his troubles?
If I had known how easy it is to quit smoking 10 years ago; I had it done right away. No doubt.

And as with any addiction, there is one golden rule and if you then aim and purpose devotes no different from what you promised, every day ... then you will not stumble, 5x not have to start again and leave you no one, NO ONE say which you can not do this because you can do. Are you ready for it?
It is in English but I will translate. NOPE; you promise every day.
NOPE. NOT ONE PUFF EVER
Just for today
no excuses
No butt ever.
For today
No excuse!
And if jeje hold on it; NOPE promise which, literally, "all the world ends, NO I do not stitch that butt up!" then you have a sticky quit 'or a solid stopper decision.

If you are good at English and want to have even more education feel free to join the ranks of the www.quittrain.com where all this information comes from.
These special credits for Joel Spitzer's videos on youtube (also all be found on the quit train)

Is your English bad and you want more information than the book by Allen Carr - quit smoking very highly recommended.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
