Something nagging me: occasional smokers surround me...

Evelyn

Recommended Posts

I have this alcolohlic neighbor who smokes a pack a wee, my ex-fb vapes and rarely uses cigs but never gets hooked (maybe caz he uses hash??) he once was addicted to heroine...

WHY is it THEY SEEM to cn occasionally smoke, it nags me, annoys me caz I know 'that 1' means 2 packs. I'm real in that BUT WTF why can they 'control' their smoking??

It nags me because the lie in my head forms if they can I can too. So I want to watch a video from Joel, or someone explaining me WTF they don't seems addicted, or is it because they're addicted to a worse substance which makes smoking less important???

Anyway I told Steve to don't brag about his e-smoker, or talk technical shit about that d*mn thing. I declined a cig from my alcoholiic neighbor...

I'm not romancin the cig, in the clinic I disgusted it but THIS appears to undermine the whole addiction fact, or am I wrong

ANYONE PLEASE, come up with a logical awsner; te first time I relapsed ths spring was this nagging feeling creeping up 'of if they can control it so can I' so I want to nail it. Basta

Nicotine may not be addictive to everyone, but I bet it IS addictive to over 99.9% of the population....The 2 you mentioned just happen to fall into that category where they may not be addicted, but chose to kill themselves by smoking anyway.

addicted or not, the end result of smoking is illness and death. I can not believe that in this day and age, if they are indeed NOT addicted, why continue to occasionally smoke....

like I said..addicted or not, the end result is the same..

Both SAY they're not addicted, she doesn't want and says she can't quit and he brags about his e-smoker / 1-in-a-month cig.

I truley believe because they're both hooked on a tougher substance (she alcohol / he weed) that they nicotine isn't such important does that make sense, if you'd take away their biggest addiction, they'd flip if you'd take away their fags / especially him with his echnical bragging bulls*t annoys me. Scooter technical talk yes when he even mentions his bragging about technical shit of one of his esmokers of liquid I cut him off NO! Don't wana here it

As you know Evelyn......The addiction is strong and we actually begin to believe the lies we tell ourselves. The both may say that they are not addicted, but who knows.....Its more than likely , just another lie that they tell themselves to justify smoking because THEY know they are addicted, but will never admit it to someone (you) who is doing everything in her power to beat it....they want to appear to have it under control....I dont believe they do.

If they want to light up once or twice a year they can have it.

If I thought I was missing out on anything by polluting my surroundings I could always

wash my socks in a public drinking fountain and call it even.

I used to worry about this too...

My wife can do the whole 'just one' thing.

She did a few months ago - and did not get addicted, she smoked half a cigarette and said she hated it.

Could I do it? Maybe. Why would I? It's horrible.

Glorious Freedom.

You can choose to poison yourself and others or......not.

It's not like it was delicious and nourishing

or fun or Free

or beautiful.

It is nothing but an ugly, expensive and deadly addictive poison.

According to Joel Spitzer, about 10% of smokers are not physically addicted to nicotine.

Still, I am not sure why a person would want to have envy of these people who are commiting suicide by smoking when they do not have a nicotine addiction to feed.

Another observation - many of these "occasional" smokers say they are not addicted, but often they are lying to you, and even to themselves. They smoke more than they will want to admit.

And yet another observation - many of these "occasional" smokers may not be addicted to nicotine right now, but this does not mean that they will not become addicted in the future. (I was one of these when I was 12 years old.)
