Some know, some don't: stuff's been comin up. I feel loneli in my pain and hurt. Situations where I used to smoke. Don't tell me to get over 'the past', it just doesn't work that way.
I won't smoke caz I came here. I just needd to say it here. NOPE.
Just sobing. Dunno where to turn to. If I ignore it it will explode in my face, so I'm facing it but it bl**dy hurts.
I need friends. So I turn to here.

Rage on, Ev.

Go DO something physical, bike, run around, run in place.

Take a shower and scream.

Try to exhaust yourself with physical activity.

Give your poor head a rest.

Things will always be coming up but,

You never have to smoke again. Ever.

Hang in there.  You will get through this.

I'm even angry at my pain and sadness!!! WTF do I have to do through it to heal... I tried to forget, 20 years... it almost destructed me. My arms full of scars... I know it will get better, just not within minutes, hours. Almost go to bed at 6 PM

Be Kind to yourself, Ev.  You are a very special person and worthy of all the Joy this world can offer.

Today is a crap day, no doubt.

I am so proud of you for Not Smoking.

Take a nice hot shower and go tuck yourself into bed with some sleepy time tea.

Tomorrow is another day.

Don't tell me to get over 'the past', it just doesn't work that way.

Actually ... it does.

It works *exactly* this way.

When you finally understand that is when you will be free.

Until then, you will repeat the past.

Over, and over, and over again.

Shall I shut up then. Why do I show my vulnerability you think your tough barney you haven't seen anything

You can get through this Evelyn, It's like quitting smoking.  You have to decide that you are going to move forward, look toward the future and leave the past behind.  It's not always easy this is true, but until you decide to not let the past dictate your future you won't be able to move past it.  Sarge is right on this 100%.  I say this with love in my heart for you.  I also speak from experience.

You are a wonderful person Evelyn.  You deserve the best that life has to offer.   You deserve better.  Don't let them win my friend.

Sarge speaks truth.

He really couldn't give a rat's cherry red arsehole about "tough".

Will you remain in denial your entire life?

You can wallow in yesterday, or you can move on to the present day.

Sarge doesn't particularly care, other than to say what he's already said: yes - it works that way. It works *exactly* that way. There is no other way.

Sarge isn't here to hold your hand and give you the warm fuzzies. He's here to point you in a direction that works.

Evelyn, you are not alone, this stuff needs to come out to heal, don't fight it, fear it or react to it by smoking or harming yourself, keep talking and reaching out

Cry a river if you have to, you won't drown, tell yourself this pain can come up but it's no longer going to harm you, tell it you are done with it and are moving past it

You do have control evelyn

Get out your guitar, write a song or several songs, just write out some words

The present moment is all there is.

Truth.

The past can't hurt you. Only in your mind it can.

Don't give it power. Don't give anyone power

Hang in there. Smoking won't change the past. It will only make you feel like shit.

We love ya

Evelyn. I don't know about your past but it is what it is. You can't change it, but you can decide to leave it behind, be who you want to be.

These aren't just random words. I have had to do it myself with someone physically and mentally abusive. It wasn't easy. But I won't let him win all my life, I had to move on for me.

You deserve better Evelyn. Do let this rueing your life forever.

It's true in the now I'm save. Doesn't mean you need to heal.

Tracey says it. It's like the soul can't forget.

I'm knowing you don't know my story so I can't blame you for the simple idea leave the past alone.

It's both true I need to focus on the here and now but still need to heal

One doesn't make the other one not untrue, you know and of course I know the Sarge has seen a lot too... Just compairingcomparing apples with pears

Hey Evelyn

Hope today is a good one. Smoking is gone. It was an addiction that you beat.

I'm sure there is plenty more to deal with - but smoking is done. That's how awesome you are.
