I've been keeping fresh and marine fish since 2006.  Insane homemade microferts and Co2 injection...

Homemade foods etc...

Here are a couple of vids of my tank for this years renewal... this was a major smoking trigger for me, but now it is a real relaxer for me...

Hope the vids can relax you too!!

Very cool videos!  My daughter and I have a 30 gallon planted freshwater aquarium with CO2.  It's a labor of love but surprisingly, very little maintenance once I got the right amount of dosing for the plants, CO2, feeding, light etc.  We're newbies at it (about 10 months) and even though I wasn't crazy about the idea, I love this thing.  Looking forward to building a 120-150 gallon tank next with a sump etc.  It's a hobby that I never saw myself getting into, much less enjoying it so much.  :)

I did salt water for a few years about 20 years ago. Very technical and I enjoyed it but vacation was a real pain in the butt to plan. Hard to find someone to come everyday and feed four types of food. Sold it all off and really miss it at times

Learned that lesson a while ago.  Went on a weekend trip just after I had started up saltwater tank few months prior.  Did all sorts of research and reading before I went into a marine setup.   Nothing in the research told me to watch out for evaporation (freshwater tanks I'd just come home after a couple of days away, feed and top up).  However, I lost all of my fish in my marine set up and after asking the local shop he told me the salt level increased as the water evaporated and killed your fish...  ugh.

I'm working on a new marine layout as we speak.  Waiting for a part for my RO/DI system.  Too bad they don't have fish hotels like they have my doggies.  lol.
