The day I quit, I went out and spent all my cigarette money on high quality foods, enough to last about a month or so. I am also getting ready to run a mile a day at least 4 days a week with my new running shoes.

The only thing I miss is chocolate, junk food, and other sweet stuff. Not because I'm weight conscious, seriously, I'm trying to gain weight. I just can't afford it.

Financial problems are just temporary, I'm working on a second job.

Ease into the running. I'm using Couch to 5K to get up to 3 miles a day. But just starting running, I could barely run 60 seconds at a time, much less a mile. I can walk a mile, though. Right now I just got done running 90 sec at a time. Next week is 3 min at a time twice. Stuff like that. With walking before, after, and in between so it's about 30 mins total.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
