Thanks guys, but today has been rough. Had to work in assisted living which is always busy, but now I'm home and my brain says it wants a smoke, just one. WHEN will this monkey get the hell off my back?! I keep chewing on straws and sucking on rootbeer barrels and cherry tootsie pops. My teeth are going to rot out! I don't like chewing gum, it reminds me of my 6 yr nic gum addiction.

This is one of the times where you need to bear down and stick to NOPE. A cigarette isn't going to make working at assisted living easier, it isn't going to do anything for you but drag you back to day one. Remember how you felt on day 1? You dreamt of being 3 weeks quit. Don't put a patch on either... That is just going to reintroduce the nicotine back into your system after it has just gotten out. It will pass.

Yep, total agree with DD on this, it is probably what you don't want to hear. In the grand scheme of things Karen. You have smoked a lot of tobacco, it's been your vice for many years. Just like the rest of us, three weeks isn't enough time to beat this yet. You are nearly out of the worst.

Next stop. The roller coaster stage. I reckon you can take.this stage too. If you need to moan, come on here and moan all you like, it better than smoking and it may help solve the issue too ;)

Tell you what though, congratulations on your three weeks that is awesome!!!

Whoo HOOO!!

3 weeks down.  You are rockin' it.

Living the life you choose and desire..FREE FREE FREE from tobacco slavery.

Come on acknowledge it... you do not miss at all the:

     timing life around smoking

gauging how many are left - can I do this or that or do I 'need' to get smokes

and the ever popular....  though rarely encountered...   where's the *** lighter/matches ... oh okay the stove will do

or the:

smell of stale smoke in your hair, on your clothes and hands, and in your car

not functioning and/or grumpiness in the a.m. until your addiction had been fed or even better awakening in the night to feed it

YOU GOT THIS, YAY!!!   Glad you are here.

Please post lots.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
