I had a nice surprise today. My Dad came to the house to see his granddaughter for the first time... He is a smoker... I was going to have to be that guy and ask him to leave his jacket in the car or whatever, but to my complete surprise when he came in he told me he quit smoking over a week ago, just in preparation for meeting her... He said she was more important and he wants to spend a lot of time with her, so quit. Thought that was a nice story and proves that quitting inspiration can come from anywhere.

What inspired you all to quit?

My own granddad helped inspire me to keep quit, in honouring a promise I made to him. Your Dad sounds like an amazing guy, and your daughter is already living up to her title as Quit Train Baby.

Oh, so happy for you and your Dad...fabulous that he love Arabelle so much, already.

I was inspired to quit because I was tired of planning my life around cigarettes...

What a great reason for him to quit! That is so sweet. :)

There are so many things that inspired me to quit. I saw what smoking can do to a person; I watched people I love suffer.

I wanted to be happy and healthy. I was tired of feeling miserable all the time. I would get sick often and had a terrible cough.

I wanted freedom. I felt like my life depended solely on when I was going to be able to smoke and I missed out on so much by constantly thinking about it.

Not worth it!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
