Not much to add to that today. Been in a bit of a funk these last few days (grumpy in other words). Haven't been able to put my finger on why. Just haven't been able to summon up a smile. Maybe quitting effects my emotions. Maybe it's hormonal? Maybe its environmental ? I'm not really sure why. Felt a bit brighter today though. Happy Monday all. :-)

Probably a combination of all if them plus the darker nights, my best remedy get out in daylight for a brisk walk at least 20 minutes in nature is best but a walk is is a walk

Massive congratulations in week 3 awesome job Bobby :)

So happy for you! I agree with Tracey that the moods are probably a combination of things...just hang in there, and I love Tracey's advice about the walk, as well! Three weeks is fabulous!!

You have got this P&P!  Really nice work.  Yeah, those mood swings can be troubling; just try your best to let them roll through.  They will ease in time.  Congrats!

We ALL have 'mood swings'... ...

What I thought about when I was 'itchy' was... "did I live a stress free life PRIOR to quitting?".... and of course, the answer is NO!!

Do I have a stress free life now? NO!!! but I'm richer! hehehe

Two of the terrible threes are down!  Three days, three weeks, then three months! :)

We get there by NOPE, one day at a time!

Well Done!

Yep, threes blow thrice. You're doing great though, so great in fact that it makes it hard to offer advice. Rude.

On an unrelated note, how did "funk" ever get to be such a glum word, when it's such great music?

Keep going, porncakes.

Congratulations on 3 weeks - really top job :fabulous:

It does sound like a combination of the nicotine withdrawal and less sunshine in general. It will get better, day by day :)

Thanks guys. Your support is lovely and appreciated. I am pleased to report that when I woke up this morning, smoking wasn't my first thought. It was my second. This is definitely progress!! I still can't shake that 'flat' feeling but I acknowledge I totally had these moods before O quit. I suspect I'm 'grieving' the absence of smoking though I'm not craving them and remain as solid in my quit as I have always been. This too shall pass I'm sure as I get used to living life without it. It's amazing just how few times I get those 'ooh, I should smoke now' thoughts considering I'm only 3 weeks quit. It's a 'bang head against wall' moment realising this thing that I absolutely can't live without and I cried harder when the goldfish died! Anyhow, karate tonight......hi....yah!! (Makes chopping motions with hands)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
