Hey my ticker says I've saved $9 and guess what...its right! I have $10 actually, in my wallet, right now. I'm going to squirrel half of it away. Once my paychecks start coming in (new job) I'll make it a habit of putting everything I would normally spend on cigs away for a special treat. For now, $5 is enough to make me happy.

And I'm leaving my money home tomorrow so I'm not as tempted as I was today to buy some!

Hey Michelle xox

I started thinking that, but my "compensation" was spending it whenever I wanted something!!! it's like a 'reward' every day or each time I see something that I used to think "can't afford it"... now I can! and I DO!!

Been quit 17 weeks tomorrrow (had to check my calendar as I forget) but only started "saving" a couple of P days ago... and only $50... it's adding up and I'm still "splashing" on what I WANT!!! for ME, it's what's helped me stay quit with joy!!!

Do I still crave? you bet! but it's not for long, and I keep remembering THE MONEY.... THE CIGARETTE MONEY!!! LOL!!!

and how it's now MINE!!!!!

Good idea - soon you will be rich! Having that extra money makes a real difference, and you will wonder how you ever could afford to smoke to begin with!

I get angry now....when I think of how much of my hard earned cash.....I have parted with.....

Treats are very important....spoil yourself.....

Much better than making those greedy tobacco companies rich...

I woke up once in the middle of the night and didnt think of cigs till Id been up a while (HUGE accomplishment) Went back to sleep and when I woke up for good they WERE the first thing I thought of. But I shook it off faster than I have been able to do so far. Thats progress! I do believe its gonna be a good day!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
