this is true....but to make sure you don't eat yourself into a belly ache...

.  always have a bottle of water with you to grab constantly when you have that restlessness.

pack with you healthy snacks...carrot sticks, apples, grapes, strawberries, broccoli with hummus.--nobody says you gotta give up eating...just try to

lean towards healthy stuff....if you only do this 25 percent of the time..it's still better than NOT.

Your body is healing itself already :)

And your food intake will start to normalise after a while - your body is probably all over the place at the moment!

I've been drinking iced cucumber water all day and feeling grateful theres no junk here. I think if theres weight gain it will just be from bread and cereal, which I recently cut out of my diet. I had a moment of despair when I looked in the mirror just now but then I thought well, I look uglier with a cig in my mouth than I do with some extra weight!

I have read weight gain is normal as you are no longer putting a stimulant into your body. Your metabolism has to adjust again.

Though I believe if you dont eat a bunch of shit and uptake your exercise just a little you should be okay. Also, a lot of us are older so that really is a normal thing for your body to do.

I dont drink too much, (because I am a complete weirdo when I do) but I think its important to try and avoid that if you can. I did notice any time I do drink, smoking is a thought at some point and harder to avoid.

The first thing I noticed when I quit was I smelled EVERYTHING.

Then taste.

Then the shedding thing. My hair wasnt falling out after a shower like it was.

Now, my skin. Its lovely-er.

I have more energy, especially in the morning.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
