Relapses stink....literally. I lost a 5 month Quit....no excuses, we all go through tough times. I'm scared after what I went through in my last Quit but I am educated and better prepared this time. I just have to do it. I felt better after 5 months of not smoking both physically & mentally and I was proud of myself. Gotta do this. It would be nice to live & even better to stop the disappointment in myself, the fear, the stink, the sense of failure & guilt. l just want to Quit. For good.

I thought I could quit again without the Forum....but the support from others helps a lot. Nope Nope Nope. I wish I had never started this filthy addictive habit.

Hi Tyme, welcome back!

The Force is strong at the QuitTrain... you should stay with us for as long as possible - the better the foundation on your quit, the stronger it will be in the long run.  We have all been where you are now, and we all came out the other side with good support :D

welcome back Tyme.....relapse sucks and the thought of starting over sucks...but...keeping your head in the sand and smoking until you are dead is worse.  So...kudos to you for recognizing!

Good to have you back Tyme2B!   It sounds like you're in it for good.  And this quit will be nothing like your last quit.

Nasty addiction for sure.  Nothing good about it.

Tyme2B... we're all different, all weak in some ways, all strong in other ways, what's right for one isn't for another and so on!

For ME, I've found just being here, not necessarily adding my bit, but when I feel too much 'empathy' it CAN stimulate my weakness.. if that makes sense? So, I avoid reading SOS's or the relapse posts, for FEAR that I'll get a "good excuse" if I'm already 'down'.... so I'll contribute the "chicks or sticks" or another fun thread, and leave until the next day.... and the NOPE thread, of course! ;)

Anyway, that's me... as I said we're all different... don't feel bad, please! I stuffed a longer than a year quit, so we're all on 'borrowed time'... NONE of us should feel 'cocky' or judgemental, or righteous!

A day at a time, and for today, right now, it's NOPE for me!!!!

Hi, Nice ta meetcha Tyme.

In 30 something years of tobacco slavery I quit 3 times.

I am leaving it at that.   3rd times a charm for me.    Glad you are sticking on 4.

I'm with Ria.....different paths for each of us -yet some similarities for all.   nope, in practice if not in pledge.

we've got this.

I am coming up on three months....longest i have been free from nicotine in a decade.

I walk uphill easily now. my nose knows things it hasn't recalled in decades. my hair, clothes, car, breathe and body don't reek of smoke or stale smoke today.  I do not plan my time around having  cigarettes..... I do not spend one minute wondering how smoking will impact the people around me or influence people's opinion of how I conduct myself in business or volunteer work.      thank you, thank you, thank you quit train riders and conductors.

Glad you're here Tyme.

One thing that I had to admit to myself is that smoking is an addiction just like alcohol and other drugs.  Nicotine is a very, very powerful drug so it only makes sense that we have a much higher rate of success when involved in some type of support group.  No need to go at it alone with the Internet!  There is so much help out there for so many things, quitting smoking included.  This is why we exist and it's why so many members who have long quits still post; to help others along their own journeys to freedom.

Yes I'm still here! Feeling awful of course but I expected that. Remind me that fatigue & feeling "shitty" is all normal! Lol! I know I will start to feel better soon. I can wish I had never started, never relapsed, never become an addict but all the wishing in the world is not going to help....I have to do this on my own...and like others, try to do it whatever way works for me. This sucks you know! Looking forward to feeling better with NOPE. Thanks to you all for your supportive comments. I deserved the window licker one Bacon....but I'm back & I'm a NOPE. Hugs to you all xx

GAWD!!! I still don't know what a 'window licker' is!!!!

GREAT to see you here T2B! xox

You got this, just get though one minute, one hour and each day at a time.

Yes I think bakon calls a relapser a window licker. I agree sunny...just have to get through each hour of the day. I'm nauseated, tired & down...I'm sure you were there too. Just using my box of help tools to get through the worst. This addiction sucks.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
