Hey all, we've been talking about the poll and the number of people who voted or posted an option that was not there.  I think the poll was put up before all the different options were discussed.  We've taken what appear to be the most popular and put them in a survey.  We'd appreciate it if all who want a say take the survey so your voice is heard.

Also I wanted to say that if your choice is not there or the option you wanted is not chosen please be assured that we will be happy to call you anything you want to be called!  Most here have previous experience on other boards and have been looking forward to certain things.  Please, keep looking forward to whatever name you want.  We look forward to it too.

The names in the survey will apply mostly to the newbies to come in the future.  The ones who don't have previous experience on another board or a preset idea of what they want to be called when they hit 6 months or a year.

Colleen will post the survey soon.  This is OUR board and we want to make sure everyone is involved.  Thanks for understanding.

You will not be asked for any personal information.  It is largely anonymous and only will ask you one question.  The survey is password protected to prevent guests from giving their opinion.  Once you enter the survey, the password should be obvious.  If it is not, please let me know.  The survey will be up for 2 weeks, so there is no rush.

I had coffee with neighbors today....they both smoke and they are acting "weird" around me. Like I would jump them if they smoke. They were both very interested and wanted to know more about how i quit.

I mentioned this board, gave them the webpage and talked a little bit about the camaraderie here and how much we help Newbies.

He said "you are all firefighters" and I laughed...and I liked it :-) I told him about our "name" poll he suggested

Firefighter

Master Firefighter

Chief

guess what he does for a living :-)

LOL I didn't storm into their house. Hard to explain, sometimes I think people don't know how to deal with somebody who quit smoking. We were sitting outside and I felt they hesitated to smoke. My did that at the beginning to, it's like they expect me to jump over the table and strangle them or grab the cigarette and run....hard to explain!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
