Hi Guys, thanks alot for the warm welcome  :)

I dont have a plan yet, I`ve tried stoping on my own in the past and that didnt work. I`m going to look around a bit and read, see if I can find something that looks doable.

Doreen, thanks for the tip , I`ll look into it.

Hey Jen-

For myself,, I tried several times, then one time, I finally made my mind up with more commitment-

I think ya just need to look @ the whole picture of smoking- do some investigative research- health wise,

look at the cost- the addiction, the fact that it really does not calm you,, (research) doesn,t make anything easier-

deep inside you really want to quit, and you can- it will do many good things for your body and your attitude,

I was married to nicotine for 30 years,, and it may kill me yet,, but I  will never take another puff,,,,

Your at the best place  there is for this- I suggest all the videos here, some of them multiple times, the information will be very helpful,

Good luck/welcome..

Welcome.

Glad you are creating your new life...FREE from addiction to nicotine.

I don't really think one way is better than another to quit....only that you find your way.

Useful for me has been to be away from people who smoke for awhile and when I get tired.

just quit....  breathe, again, again,..... post, again, again, again..... NOPE, again, again, again

Hi Jenn!

We love Jenn's, so you are very welcome here!!  I'd recommend a book called The Easy Way to Quit Smoking by Allen Carr.  Also there is lots of reading here about quitting.  Start on the Quit Smoking Discussions page.

We are all here to help each other so the support is great and we find that quitting can actually be fun.  A few tough moments, but we help each other get through them.

Jenn,

All road lead to Rome....you have to want to quit ....more than you want to smoke....

All my past failed attempts have been because I had one foot in ...and one foot out....

Just jump in with both feet....

Never stick anything in your mouth and set fire to it.....

I smoked over five decades....it is doable....

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
