We have been pumping our bodies for years, sometimes decades of a cocktail of poisons...

It will take time to adjust ,we are all different...and this process takes each person different..

Slowly your body will adjust to this massive change....

It may not happen over night....but it will happen....

The daily pledge for me ....means I wont smoke that day...

Dont look ahead....don't look back..just don't smoke today....

One day at a time.

anyone can quit for a day can't they?

then just repeat.... B)

Smokers don't understand that... sadly :(

With them, it's "tomorrow I'll quit" or "when this pack finishes, I wont buy any" etc..etc..  I 'see-sawed' between the two!! quitting for days/weeks/ then ???? (that ONE dreaded puff/smoke/cigi for ??? don't know!!? but it doesn't MATTER!! All I have to think is N.O.P.E!

Spoke with my 'bestie' yesterday who has been ROOLY sick.. chest etc. said "let's face it, my chest is stuffed" and I blew her up!!!

Told her what an idiot to ASSUME that her lungs are stuffed!!! NO ONE has ever told her that!!!

Last week, when she first go a virus, and was in bed for 3 days, and didn't smoke (or drink port) she says...

"didn't make any difference.. I coughed anyway"!!!!!

It's SO difficult, just listening and not commenting... other than 'mmmmm... oh dear.... and so on'.. I DID say that her negativity is affecting our relationship....and it is!!

I mean , how STOOPID to live life in LIMBO like that???!!!???

ASSUMING her chest is stuffed.. so 'what's the point'???  Her father, brother, sister and mother ALL died from Cancer... or Emphysema (father) and all by or before 62!  She's 64, (June) and the way she's going, she wont make 65!!!!

Anyway, sorry, Doreen xox didn't mean to stuff up your thread.. vent over....

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
