My still smoking friend.

She goes to the supermarket today....holds all the queue up.

She asked the lady server to show her all the cheapest cigs they have, finally settled on the cheapest in the shop....the cost £8 23.....geez.....

They smell like crap....cow dung......

It was another great reminder of my beautiful quit....

I have no idea how I ever managed to afford to smoke yet, strangly, I don't have extra money now that I don't smoke.  hahahaha---I wonder what I'm wasting it on now!!!

Wow and I thought my budget brand at £7.81 was extortionate!

Even this far into my quit I still notice how much more available money I have (probably as I had none before lol) and it still makes me smile.  Apart from this month, this month I'm proper poor but I know how it happened and I had lots of fun  :D

Your poor friend, hopefully one day....

I do not even want to compute the thousands and thousands I spent over the years.  Even here in the south of the US (tobacco country) premium brands are around  $7.00 per pack!

I think the premium brands are more than £10 a pack now mammy? I obviously don't see them in the shops anymore now they are hidden, but I have a little peak online ocassionally if I need to cheer myself up ;)

The US sell the cheapest cigis anywhere! (other than some Arab countries)

No wonder they have trouble quitting!!!

Overheard the other day, my brand, Alpine Supreme (nearly forgot then!!!!!) is not $28 per 25... that's MORE than a $1 a smoke!!

JEEPERS!!!

So those monitors at the end of posts probably need updating... I'm keeping an eye on mine, (we have a yearly rise here in Oz till...?) which will add to my pleasure!!!!!

What used to cost me $175 per fortnight, would now cost $196!!!! and that's if my friend and I didn't have a 'bash'!!!

Or I was 'upset' with something or someone... or felt "lonely".. or all the other excuses I used, to justify the ridiculousness of burning money, and being totally broke all the time... I'm still broke, but have CHOSEN to spend my money on items that LAST!!!!

The 1st time I quit, they were $11 and was costing $154 per fortnight but I was working then..., but I was smoking 2 packs a day almost... IN the car, IN the apartment, IN the shower!! (yes, IN THE SHOWER) the only place I never smoked was bed....

I must have smelled AWFULLY disgusting!!!! My kids used to TELL me but I'd ignore it....

That's how I KNOW I didn't smell as they'd always comment on my perfume, if I'd just showered... other wise, never!

So my quit this time, (the LAST time) has been totally 'alone'... no one to 'boast' to... other than my neighbour downstairs.... but I can't even boast to my friend.. as she's still a smoker and HATES hearing about it!!! haven't seen her since I quit! Wish I hadn't told her now... but anyway.....C'est la vie!

Awww you're all SO wubly!! lol!!! you know what I mean though, eh?  It's SO nice to 'celebrate' every now and then.....

MOST of the time, I hardly think about it, but when I do, I DO!! that's when my 'puffer' is amazing!!! that RELIEF I get, from inhaling the juice.. (NO NIC) is ample.. even 2 or 3 times, and that's it!!!!

Anyway, that's another topic.. I do tend to "butterfly"... xox

Oh yes!! TEW... know what you mean about "bills".. the GOOD bills and the BAD bills... the good stay around and the bad are PAID easily!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
