this three day weekend I didn't dry or straighten my hair at all... which has never happened in forever.  And I had all this extra time and it wasnt stressful or annoying knowing "ugh I have to go take a shower and do my hair" (I have really thick long hair and it takes forever to dry and straighten)

I think Im getting to where I don't want to do those things anymore but Im so used to them I don't think I feel as awesome without doing it.  /sigh

I have the same sort of hair Rachael, it's good to give it a break sometimes.  French braid?  Besides, you are more than your hair!

bahahaha... I cant even do a normal braid.  I just need to figure out the products best for wavy long hair to keep frizz out and such without it getting "crunchy" I guess...

I used to always have it shorter.... then a few years a go I let it grow and grow and grow for no particular reason.... and I cant imagine cutting it off.

How wavy is your hair?  I did the Deva curl method for over a year lol, but don't waste your money on their products.  I go through a lot of gel, because my hair is really thick and long.  I use a hard gel, but mix it with water.  I kid you not.  Don't laugh, but...I take one of those Gladware containers, squeeze an entire tube of Aussie Freeze gel into it and mix some warm water in with it.  I use a wire whisk to mix it all up and add more water as I go.  I can't say how much water I add to it, just until it is a liquid consistency.  I'm telling you it works.  At first I was using Biosilk Rockhard Gellee, but discovered the Aussie one has the same ingredients and properties.

Only very slightly, but once it is dry, you scrunch the crunch out.  Right now, I am only straightening my hair when it is absolutely necessary.  I was really rough on my hair for a few months, and am paying for it.  It is so bad, I am deep conditioning every time I wash it.

yeah I never give my hair a break.... years and years and years of blowdrying high heat and highest setting on the straightener

just always disliked my wavy hair... guess trying to find a way to enjoy it now

I wish I had wavy hair my hair is thin and straight doesnt hold a curl to save my life......it does what it wants cant even keep all of it in a pony tail stray hairs just come right outta there.......one of the reasons I will never have my hair short because it would  be horrible.

I can relate to the drying part, I also have very thick hair that takes forever to dry and I never have enough patience to go through with it, lol.

But why would you straighten them? the damage aside, you are lucky to have naturally wavy hair, and it looks good. I know I'd love me some, but mine are hopelessly straight, I don't try to grow them out anymore for I wouldn't have awesome big curls without effort on my part.

We all want what we can't have huh? :)

Embrace the curls! :D

Oh I've the same stressful hair, I have started washing it at night and put it up high in a bun, still wet, sleep on it and when I wake up I take out the bun and split hair in two and twist/twirl one half and just run the straighteners through it a few times, then do the other side and it gives nice beach waves, not fuzzy or mad curly, does the job and I am not wrecked after it cos I have fibromyalgia and a few other issues that cause severe weakness in my hands and arms so I ache trying to dry and straighten but this help massively and hair looks cool;))))
