Why stay around ...when i have a good quit under my belt....for me....

Helping the newbies ...it reminds me of where I was back then....

To try and help newbies get where I am today....

I've made some great friends along the way.....and I would miss them....

Besides....I waited a long time for a little baby action to join the board....

Leave now..not a chance....

Why do you stay ?....

To pay it forward.  I never would have quit without the support I received.  The thought of leaving never crosses my mind.  Quitting was a such a big part of my life for a while, that the board became something of a second home to me.  I could never leave it.  I don't post a lot every day, but I am here every day.  Something about beating an addiction alongside others, helps to foster some great friendships and I would never leave my friends behind :)

You can't leave, it's just we don't want everyone to know that... ;)

Without this place I would never have quit smoking.  For more than 20 years I dedicated myself to cigarettes.  It was a sad way to live.  Now I'm dedicated to this board and the people who come here because everyone deserves to be free and those who traveled the road to freedom first are an inspiration to those just beginning their journey.

Can't miss a NOPE... sometimes around more, sometimes not so often but Always insight
Today i sat nextto a smoker, somebody on my other side asked a cig... went under my nose, it was so F it ironic and the thought pops what if it's cozy? So I drilled my mind 'they NEED to work on their addiction, get their fix; nothing cozÿ' Ow I I reminded my NOPE pledgeTHAT is a promise everyday to stick with it no matter what... so could I leave? Yeah is it smart I think not yet. Besides sometimes I post some tough love, it'screepy I start to look like bakon. ;)

I come by for a few days, then not for a few days. Why?

To help where I can, to catch up with old friends, and try to work out what Bakon is talking about...

I WOULD have quit without y'all... (sorry, but I take FULL responsibility for my quit!) just as if I was to ever 'relapse' I'd have only myself to 'blame'.....

BUT being here has "educated" me in SO many ways!!  plus, you've all made it somewhat easier, being able to share thoughts and concerns and just "vent" at times!!!

PLUS, there are so many other threads NOT about quitting... Cats, friendships, bathrooms (lol!) etc!!

It's a lovely place to 'be'.... xox xox xox and I LURVE the "N.O.P.E" daily thread! ;)

Just here making up the numbers :)

Seriously I am here to tell a story, to make people believe in themselves and to support others to quit.

I love the friends I made here too. x

Lots of people here that I care very much about (and not just Bakon  ).  And, as others have said, I hope I can help others become non-smokers and happier people!

This place is different than other forums - IMO.

Quitting smoking can be very emotional and the people here just all seem so real.  I have been on other forums - gardening, exercise, sex (just kidding on the last one :) ) .  They feel very superficial, and I don't stick around long.  I would never share pictures or "real" things about myself on other forums (Facebook doesn't count).

Here, it is a really supportive environment and feels very "family" like.  There are people who I don't agree with at all, and some that I totally click with, but I love you all the same cuz you all have something to offer, and we all support each other almost no matter what.  And honestly, it is a great feeling when someone says, "your post really helped me."  Because there were sure a lot of people who helped me.  Happy to pay it forward! :)  (Even if I don't get here as often as I want to anymore. )

xoxo!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
