Easy Peasy

Initially I found it annoying.

Slowly though, I began to realise it's power.

I am no expert in addiction, but I did come to realise that it was for me, a very personal battle. Colleen, Nancy, DD, Ava, Jenny et al could not quit for me. They could offer support, a word or two of advice, but in the end it came down to a simple one and one battle with myself. As someone memorably wrote

"Just don't put things in your mouth and set fire to them"

It was and is, in its essence, that.

So, I reasoned, there is Just one thing to do. I can do just one thing.

It is Easy Peasy.

How my quit went was also my responsibility. None of the lovely people here can give me an easy quit or a hard quit. Only I can choose how to view it. I can choose the 'I loved to smoke, but it was bad for me so I quit' which I think is hard, or I can choose 'smoking? It's all a big con trick. I saw the light and I have never been happier.' The second is, I think easier. Easy Peasy one might say.

Some folk like to view quitting as the end of all things. A titanic struggle of good over evil. Some folk go through stages of all the views.

The power of this place is that we can all draw on everyone's individual experience and individual personalities.

Millions of people have quit smoking.

It's not Rocket Surgery :-) but it is a Great thing.

Frankly, I hate the "Easy Peasy" crap.  But that doesn't mean I have a right to tell anyone not to use it.

Still, wow, how obnoxious!!!

It's not crap.

Quitting can be easy, or it can be difficult ... and you control that. You have a choice. You.

Embrace The Suck and it becomes as Easy Peasy as you want it to be.

Anyone can make quitting difficult/hard/impossible, right - but why would you want to do that?

Easy Peasy

bottom line

life is a pain in the asssss sometimes....we all have issues..every single one of us

and not one of those issues is a reason to smoke...not one

a quit is as hard...or as easy (peasy) as you want it to be...it really is YOUR call

hope you come back!

I suggest you get back right away and stop the stupid smoking now, while you still can.  You don't want to be 10 years down the road and wishing you'd stopped back in June 2015.  Don't be that person.  The opportunity to quit is right now.  Let your body start healing and stop any further damage.  Just quit.

I don't know what you're going through or how it's affecting you but I do know that no matter what happens to us, it's no reason or excuse to smoke.  I too have been through mountains of shit since I quit.  We're talking the Swiss Alps (those are big, aren't they? :) )  I didn't smoke and to this day I am grateful.

Get back here and let those with strong quits with lots of time under their belts help you.  Some things may be uncomfortable to hear, like "your making excuses" and "easy peasy" but those are a whole lot better to hear than "you've got cancer" and then list can go on and on.  People tell you those things for a reason.  For one, they care or they wouldn't take the time to respond and two, there is wisdom in those replies.

Trust me, get back on the train now and just quit.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
