Slowly - I become less wrapped up in 'not smoking.'

I remember when every second of every minute was consumed in 'not smoking'. Constantly telling myself that I do not smoke, I do not want to smoke, smoking does nothing for me.........on and on and on.

Gradually, I would go whole minutes without being consumed in 'not smoking'. Then 5 minutes, 10, an hour.

I remember thinking 'Good Lord. I have had my coffee, walked the dog and I don't recall thinking about 'not smoking' once.

Then it became days. As Markus wrote, 'the slogging becomes a happy walk'

Life is better as a happy walk. So I keep walking.

If I squint a bit, I can just see Markus, Rain, Babs, and all the other quitters before me a bit further up the same road.  B)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
