Social Anxiety/Insecurity, Megalomania and Self-Loathing

Recommended Posts

Check, check and check.

Recently I've experienced an amplified version of all these negative mechanisms.  It's as if smoking held 'em back where they were left to fester, contort, brew, and multiply inside my psyche.  Yikes.  They seem big and fast and persistent and strong.

So yes, it has been a rough week or so.  Work, relationships, teeth, groups.  A lot, lot, lot of crying.  I've been exercising, meditating, praying.

Smoking will not cure these ills.  Smoking created these ills.  Please don't let me forget that.

And thank you all for being here.

When we met with a problem and we smoked ...it was the first thing we reached for....believing a smoke helped the situation...

It took my brain a while before it sunk in...smoking did nothing to help.....

TEW....the emotions you are dealing with are all normal...I did heaps of crying....

It does slowly get better...and start to deal with life ...on life's terms....

Keep coming here for support to get you through all this stuff....

Well done...your a strong young woman...you will do this...

Hugs xx

If smoking helped with anything, it would be on those packs of death.  Smoking creates lots of anxiety on many different levels.  You're mind is on the right track to beat this addiction to a bloody pulp.  :good3:

I'm sorry you're having a tough week. Pleased you're making the right choices to deal with it though. Smoking, did indeed, create a whole heap of issues which we now have to unwind from our lives. You are doing so fabulous making all these connections and we are absolutely here for you and to remind you, smoking caused this and you deserve better!! x

Thanks for the support!

Almost put a hole in the wall yesterday.

But didn't smoke!!

My hand hurts a bit.

But thanks to this forum I realize that punching a wall is a perfectly appropriate response.   ;)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
