Hello everyone....still here but dealing with a lot of issues lately and I can't say why really but it has a lot to do with food and change.  Ya know the things you need to do like eating healthy and exercise.  I have gotten on a chocolate kick I'm having a hard time getting off of and sticking to my exercise.  I don't know why now and it wasn't so much when I first started but it seems the more things I let go off the more the addiction beast wants to pull me back in.  I feel tied a lot and I don't know if that is why I'm wanting to eat more sweets for energy but once I start I want it all day.  But I might add I gave up alcohol 4 months ago also.  I'm not young(60) so I have a lot of ingrained things going on in this head.  Thanks for all your support...

Hi Ricki, Congrats on 2 months! I don't feel qualified to give you much advice yet but I have gained weight and I eat more than I should right now. What is the most important thing to me right now is never smoking again. I am not worrying about my weight bcause for me I feel like that would set me up to fail on my quit. Personally I know I can always lose weight once I get farther along. Keep your quit at all times. You are doing great!

Well done ricki!!

Yes that chocolate addiction....difficult to overcome but doable. You've already proven that by quitting smoking. You are stronger than you give yourself credit for. One day at a time.

Health and fitness is a little different in that...with quitting smoking its NOPE. But with eating and exercise...it's more like...bad day....pick yourself up and keep going. That's the key. Fall down 7 times get up 8.

 

Congrats to you also on quitting alcohol. That's awesome!!

Aww....chocolate....

I am fortunate to not be a choccy holic....

What you are achieving is Flippin amazin....2 months is a great quit.....

Don't over think things....when you are ready....then you will start to lose weight...l

Staying smoke free is the most important thing....well done ...x

2 months is AWESOME!!  Congrats on the alcohol too! :)

 

Those are two major things to give up at nearly the same time.  I'm sure your brain and body are trying to sort it all out.  Maybe don't worry too much about the chocolate right now, but do try to keep up with the exercise.  I know that can be tough - believe me, I'm having a tough time getting my butt into the gym lately.  As soon as I do go, though, I'm so happy I did it.  Just getting there is 95% of the battle, so as Nike says "Just Do It'.

 

One thing that helps me get there is just saying , "Ok.  Tomorrow I am going to go run on my treadmill at 8:00, right after the kids go off to school."  Then I drop the subject to myself.  I don't make arguments with myself why I can't go or think of how awful it's gonna be.  I just drop it, and do it when it's time.  after 5 minutes of warming up, I'm so happy I made the choice to stick to my plan.

Two months is fabulous, Ricki!  Don't worry so much about the chocolate right now, just protect your quit.  So happy and proud for you!

congrats ricki! Awesome...stay on it, and choke it out with whatever you need to!

 

I read something about a big chocolate heist in the last couple of months...what a coincidence...bakon is getting all friendly wanting to pin it on someone so don't cop to it  :)

Thank you everyone...you are all so amazing and so supportive.  It's one thing I make sure I do everyday (I might have missed 1) is to come on here and pledge my quit for the day.  Just doing that I believe is so helpful.

Hi Rocki - congrats on a fabulous 2 months - if the chocolates are helping you stay quit then I wouldn't stress too much about that at the moment .... Concentrate on nurturing this quit first and then you have already proved yourself strong enough to deal with the chocs xx

Hi Ricky 2 months is Awesome and chocolate is better than smoking for sure! Like the others say don't worry so much about it at this stage it's all normal but if you do want to do something as its causing you some worry...

 

I did a study on sugar and in fact it makes your body think you are starving and craves more and then stores as fat (without going into all the medical and scientific fact)

 

I ate really dark chocolate as a substitute it hit the sugar spot but stopped the give me more button, if you can't stand it maybe have some of the good stuff first :)

 

I would also recommend you go to the doctor and get your bloods checked, just so you know all is fine and put your mind at rest x

I went to the dark chocolate and starting eating it all day....I do have borderline diabetes so that's why I get so stressed.  But there is no more in the house and I'm finding that a bit difficult this morning.  Already had some honey.  Oh well I will keep my quit with smoking and alcohol and try not to be so rough on myself.  I know which ones are the most important.  Thanks again everyone.

Chocolate - yeah it can happen.

 

But - you quit smoking. Slowing down on chocolate will be a breeze.

Ricki, congrats on two months. That's an accomplishment worthy of celebration~  Keep making changes and adopt what works. Because the quit has to be the priority, right? Best of luck! Treat yourself with great care. Where you are in your quit was challenging for me when I was there. I wish I had been a bit easier on myself. :wub:
