Quit Smoking Discussions

"A place for all discussions relating to quitting smoking and staying quit. The sky is the limit so jump in and enjoy the fresh air!"

Hi, Everyone!

I wasn't sure which forum, to post this in. I read the above and figured it fits, here.

I recently made the decision to not involve myself here anymore. (truly, for a *number* of reasons).

I have talked with people, about my reasons and within those discussions, made the comments that I had no intention of writing a "Swan Song" and leaving. But, I have wrestled with finding a way to tell everyone, who might be wondering, what has become of me. I can only think of doing this, to let you know, "what's up". I am not leaving the forum nor, have I been asked to. No sanctions have been placed on my postings, here. I am leaving my registration "open", to use as I choose and ... (may need for continued smobriety).

I am trying to do, what Trace mentioned once, which is, (paraphrase), close some doors of unhappiness and move on ... with strength to strength. That's, "what's up". Nothing more. Those "doors" have to do with real life stuff, that needs my attention, and very little to do with cyberspace.

Who knows, (I don't), I may even want to post here again sometime for, altruistic reasons. I will leave that open too! I just can't do this right now. I need to invest more effort and time with ... what Trace said.

I offer my best wishes, to you all.

Hi Mike you need to do what is right for you in your life at this precise moment in time, what is best for you, not for anyone else, I for one am here to support you as much or as little as you may need, sometimes we need to reach out and feel the physical or mental force of human life, and sometimes we just want to pull the duvet over our heads and shut the world out, I judge no-one we are all here for a reason.  Quitting, I do worry when I havent seen a fellow member for sometime and can only hope they are doing well, still quit and just not needing this little corner of the internet.  Stay strong Mike post when and if you need, but above all please keep your quit.  Hugs xx

Thanks for checking in Mike,

I had hoped you would post. Sometimes I wonder about people who disappear without a word. I wonder if they're in the bag, or if they met with some event.

I think you'll survive to post again, I'm sure we haven't read the last from you.

Sorry you feel that this group thing isn't for you. Sometimes it is easier to "wing it" but sometimes people leave cause they aren't ready to give up their smokes. My wish is that you find what you need & just stay cig free.

-Snippets- Quitting, I do worry when I havent seen a fellow member for sometime and can only hope they are doing well, still quit and just not needing this little corner of the internet.

Please don't worry Jackie. It doesn't help you or I. I will post an SOS first, if another event happens, that seriously jeopardizes my quit.

Thanks, everyone.

Window licker. I will say you need to post here for a year Everyone does. Not just for you but to pay forward. So I hope this comes across like a smack in the puss. Only takes a minute to check in and say hi. Besides without Canucks the British will think it's ok to talk their nonsense more

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
