I've posted a lot of SOS's. Too many? IDK...I think most of us have a ton of SOS's at first...I'm still a baby 8 days into my quit, so its okay, right?

I woke up after my sleep-a-thon with a bad craving. Reminded myself I don't smoke and shook it off. Remembered all the things I have planned today, out and about instead of hanging around the house. Then started thinking about that stupid 7-11 again. About how I *could* buy a pack on the way to the bus stop and smoke a few then throw it away...right...like I'd really throw it away. Actually I've done that before, thrown away partial packs of cigarettes thinking I'M DONE I'M DONE NOT EVEN ONE MORE only to buy another one the next day. Anyway....I couldnt come to this board and be dishonest, saying I didn't smoke when I did. And I don't want to come to the board and tell you all that I smoked.  I don't want to smoke but I want to. Then I think well, I could smoke then just start my time over, you know, change my quit smoking date? WHY WOULD THAT BE OKAY???? Thats the silliest rationalization I can think of. Besides I have the coolest quit date....4/20....LOL.

Please help me remember why I don't want to smoke! I've had the hardest time the last week but I've MADE IT. Why would I give up now, right?

Hell week is over and the reason why you quit, there are thousands and thousands of them but the one that stands out the most is , YOU, you are the most important reason to quit.  Be stronger than the addiction you owe it to youself, all that you are feeling is an emotion, it will pass, work through it be strong and be determined you are doing amazing.  xx

You either smoke or you don't.

Count doesn't matter. One to 1000

You don't smoke.

NOPE and you don't fail. No puff, Not one. Ever.  And you don't smoke.

Want to smell and have dogshit breath?  Smoke.

Go find a cancer patient today, any kind but skin, because the treatment is similar.  Talk to them, ask how they feel about losing hair and fingernails. Weight and skin color all pale or grey. Cant eat, no strength. Bloody nose from being all dried out....

Be glad you quit now.

But have to say, at a quick look, I thought the word was differnet in title, you said you were having trouble dropping a deuce...

Wow. Great motivation friends, thank you. I'm going to read a few stories on WhyQuit that are hard to read. Thats helped me before. Then a nice healthy breakfast, a warm shower/makeup/lotion/nailpolish then a prettied up Michelle will be out the door to start her day, past the STUPID 7-11 and on to the bus stop.

I  know its not the 7-11's fault lol

sorry....I guess you didn't read the rules....only 3 SOS's per week allowed and only 5 in a lifetime or you are banned.  LOL...NOT!!!

Post an SOS all day long....who cares!  As long as the final outcome is NO SMOKING

all good!

You have some great advise / comments here..just say Nope..get through the minute if you have to. Read watch videos until the craving passes and it will. Eventually, you will go hours and days without thinking about smoking. You are a non smoker protect that quit at all costs

Hey Michelle - no limits on SOS.

No limits on reasons to quit either.

You are conspicuous. You quit smoking! Thats pretty cool!

Don't smoke cos you don't want to be a smoker. Just keep on keeping on. Before you know it, the crave will pass.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
