Do you have a bucket list?

We have some awesome quitters here today . This is very good news . It is encouraging for all of us when another makes a milestone . Day 1 is my favourite . ( a milestone is Day 1..6001, in between and beyond and is to be proud of )

So its time to celebrate today , and continue on with that journey .. don't turn your back on this beautiful quit ...just keep moving forward .

Now that you have more energy I expect you will be out dancing the night away, shopping , running the races , golfing seeing movies, concerts, buying new cloths , getting the hair done , a manicure, pedicure , perhaps a vacation . ( all guilt free and stress free enjoyment ) . Why? because you quit smoking and quitting smoking has many rewards .

All this money you are saving will be put to good use . Money spent is now money earned. Our smoke deserving right ( the right we felt guilty of; stress induced ) of five to twelve dollars a day really added up didn't it ? Today, 20's 50's 100's; 1000's of deserving Quit dollars are now in your pocket for you to use ; not the tobacco company . Look at your life time saved from quitting : WOW!!!! That will be put to good use . What are the "to do" things that were on your bucket list? You know the ones you always wanted to do and never had time or money time or the health for ? You better start doing them , and adding; make that list bigger and start ticking them off . Para sailing , zip line ? Learning the guitar .. learn to swim ? Do something you have always wanted to do .. because YOU CAN !

Now you have that time saved count on seeing the kids at graduations weddings , and grandkids. Be proud and wear your smile :) Your quit smoking $$$$ saved time, saved HEALTH, saved money , and saved lives . ! This journey has been worth it hasn't it ?

Those tough days some of you are having now ..those are for learning that better days are coming . Embrace them as part of your road to health like the healing of a broken bone ..you'll be better in no time . There will be no need for Crutches .. You will be almost as good as new .

HANG IN THERE EVERYONE ! Day 1 quitters .. Congratulations .. Day 2 , months , Congratulations .. in fact CONGRATULATIONS to everyone of us .

WE Quit smoking!!!

How awesome is that !

Whats on your bucket list?

I seriously want to do a train ride through the Rocky Mountains
Go zip line with my grandkids ..and shout my quit smoking  stats in the mountains  and hear it echo back.

Already took my kids to Disneyland which I'd been attempting for literally years (should add two quitters money, not just me).

Signed both kids up now to regular outlay for potential life saving activities (miss 9 martial arts and miss 5 swimming lessons).  I could never have afforded regular outlay with smoking too.

May take a holiday somewhere cheap and european this year, and I can do that if I want :)

Booked taking my masters in reiki and investing in a business of my own for holistic healing.

Next up for a couple of years is buying a house (saving deposit), Canada holiday, Camp in France with the kids are all on the saving agenda.

When kids are older, trip with the Bakons for my Chris to motorbike ride, trip to borneo rainforest, Peru for the inca ruins, back to mexico to do more mayan ruins, handgliding somewhere, monaco grand prix....so much :)

The point is if you really embrace the good of not smoking, especially financial,  it can easily knock a trigger out of the ball park because no way would I want to give up those plans, no matter how big my addiction was!!  Once you taste the freedom, you have more incentive to hold on. So I really advocate treating yourself!!

Swim in the buff in the Indian Ocean (last one to do it in). There's a cool marine research station on the west coast of Australia.  It'd be fun to volunteer during the sperm whale migration (a spectacular sight or so I've read) and I could achieve two goals at one time.  Shark attacks are kind of frequent tho...gotta be careful.

Somehow make my way to and stand at the geographic North Pole.

Lots more but those are on top.

Sounds cool and trust me - the shark attacks aren't that frequent ... It is a bit like crocodile attacks ... We exaggerate them to keep the Americans away !! :-). ( just kidding!)

Oh and for me ... Back to Peru at the end of the year for some volunteer work and then hopefully Europe in a year or two .... So definately can't afford to smoke ..... Way too many things to do and see :-)

Wow thanks for sharing everyone . These things are really cool . Smoking could have stopped us at never being able to do  even the little things  . Smoking doesn't stand in the way of our dreams anymore . IT CAN BE done .

I can't wait to hear more exciting things that  you would like to do now you don't smoke.

I would love to go to one of those rooms on stilts in the Bahama's or somewhere as exotic, where the sea is clear beneath you and you can see the fish swimming around, the sand is so clean, Eygypt is somewhere else I would love to go, Back to my land of Birth - Norway and see the Northern Lights, so much of the world to see,

Nice thread. Thank you, for letting me talk about myself again. lol

I want to see the Queen Charlotte Islands. There is vegetation and animal life there, that is not seen anywhere else in the world. It survived the last ice-age unscathed, and continued on ...

I have looked into working there and have made overtures too but, it is a little too remote for me now. And ... her has had enough with my wanderings. hint ... her doesn't factor into my plans any more.

No she's right lol. If they "attack" us it is more often than not our own fault... Or them "investigating" what is in their environment. They don't have arms and fingers so unfortunately for us it is done with teeth. ;)

I have friends who were there 2 years ago Mike & they LOVED it! Ranked up there as one of their best experiences.

Clichéd as it is, I want to be happy, genuinely, honestly and deeply, from my head to my toes. Everything else is gravy!

And if I can help other people on the way that would be awesome.

Lets see,

Get up close to a active volcano, a African safari, Vacation in Hawaii, scuba dive the great barrier reef, take a cruise in the Bahamas, and be able to retire with enough money to do all that stuff!

I like to do that powered paragliding too!

Brilliant!  Seems the selfless helping of others along the way is an ingredient in the recipe for happiness.  You're well on your way Ms Sarah.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
