My flight was delayed and I had FIVE min to make it from G4 to L6 at O'Hare, or I'd miss the connector. And stuck waiting 8 hours. I'm sitting on the plane as we speak. I was SPRINTING

See, now that happened to me when I smoked, and I missed the connection, spent like 18 hours in the airport, got into Vermont in the middle of the night, missed the beginning of my conference, ended up in some in-the-middle-of-nowhere seedy motel for the rest of the night. ALL BECAUSE OF SMOKING, NOT SPRINTING. But you, Goddess, have the winged heels of a non smoker! Well done you! :)

Before, I definitely wouldn't have sprinted anywhere. I used to get winded from walking!

Or... smoker Leanna would have used those 5 minutes to smoke and would have missed my flight anyway because, y'know, I "had" to have that cigarette.

Just had my first flight as a non-smoker.  Nice!  So mellow and relaxed.  Good stuff.  Now it's just the dealing with where I am...a place I used to live which has some powerful emotional associations.  I mean, I was a smoker and a non-smoker in this town.  Mostly a smoker...I lived here over two years and I quit about 3 months out of that time.  It is strange to be back here and not have my cigarette, my friend, to keep me company in my thoughts.

So yeah - flight was great and reaffirming.  But being here is scary and slightly overwhelming.  I'm here because my best friend had her baby and I hadn't even met him yet at 8 months!  But it's all new - knowing and seeing her as a mother and a real adult.  I don't plan to have kids so it's something we will never have in common.  I'm nervous...

Always hated smell of planes. Even non smoking ones were stale. Why don't they hang that tree air freshener on windshield?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
