It's an amazing organisation, very personal and they look at abilities not at disabilities. I can start swimming there every Monday

BUT

I'm probably going to live surrounded by hooked smokers so my quit will have to be guarded and I am assuming they don't smoke inside, still midst summer with a barbeque and 90 % smoking is big test for me :)

Well RunFree I'm going to live in a 'protected home-living group' where you get extra support around mental health issues. It's also way closer to my therapy; I'm nr. on the waitinglist and I only have to wait until someone on the groundfloor moves out and I can move in.

So I'm prepeairing, Have some great help with that!

VERY Cool!  Sounds ideal.  I also want to say good for you on quitting ahead of time and allowing your quit to gain strength before moving.  I know we must always be vigilant in our quit, but it sure does help to not be as raw or as vulnerable as we were 3 months ago.  So pleased for you Evelyn.

I always admire a swimmer..I'm like a brick in water and can barely do a sidestroke.  But I do like to float on my back in the ocean.

just remember Evelyn....the smokers HAVE to smoke in order to relieve their withdrawal symptoms....don't look at them like the are getting something you aren't....they continue to suffer..and you have escaped....you are free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Yippeee!

My mind feels like it, has about had it today. Time to shut it down, and do something different, than sitting here and reading.

But, wasn't it you I read recently, that you kicked the "urge to smoke in the balls", or something like that?

Give me a moment, to get out of this thread, and kick away.

True in those kinda situations I feel nastalgic while the only nostalgic there is, is that they NEED to and I don't HAVE TO prove I belong only if I smoke one too, Like I felt last Sunday. It's bullsh*t They NEED to smoke, I DON'T

Hi Evelyn sorry to miss this yesterday, but well done, for taking the crave head on and dealing with it.  When you start romancing the nicotine it can take over your whole mind, believe me I know that is how my relapses occured, and believe me you so don't want to be doing that, you have worked so hard to get where you are, and we all know that craves will go if dealt with in the right way.  Hang Tuff Evelyn NOPE is the only way forward xx

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
