Evelyn, sorry I'm late responding to your post.  I'm glad to hear you have calmed down now.  There is nothing wrong with crying.  I cried a LOT in the beginning of my quit.  ((((Evelyn))))

Hi Evelyn...just checking in for the first time today...sorry to be late.  I am glad to see you are feeling calmer!  You have been so strong throughout this journey Evelyn!  Whatever you do, DON'T SMOKE!  You said it yourself you don't want to start over!!  Stay strong!  Stay close to the board.  WE are here for you!

I keep fighting but it's tough

Every great thing you must fight for. And the greatest things are the toughest fights, like freedom. And it gets hard and might seem impossible at times but that's the times you tell the thing you are fighting with to f-off. Never give in to something that tries to control you or make you do something you do not want. I'm stubborn as hell and if I had to I'd spend all day curled in a ball under a blanket but I would never let a cigarette think I needed it so much that I'd give up and smoke again. I'm stronger than that. YOU are stronger than that.

I am sorry I am late to your post. It's now mornging where I am .

(((((Evelyn))))) you are a few days ahead of me. Even with that being said, I have been through this before with a couple of long term quits. I never had to fight my quits. That is why I relapsed so easily.

What you should do is analyze what you are going through. Burn every moment into your memory.

You NEVER want to have to go through this ever again. Keep putting just one more minute between you and the last dose of the drug you are addicted to.

You can do this!!!

Evelyn, can you take a bubble bath ? Or go get a massage ? Something, anything to relax you while rewarding yourself too ?

Your doing so good. And you never want to go through this again, right ?

Well, the only way off this roller coaster is to stay on. It will end. Just keep going ......

Hang in there Evelyn.  Fight it out. Be happy that each moment you don't smoke, you are becoming stronger.

If you haven't already, write a list of all the reasons you want to stay smoke free.

Maybe you can bake something or go for a walk.  Punch some pillows.  Cry some more.  I cried too.  One day, I was literally on the floor sobbing.  It's okay, it's a great release.

Sorry to be late to your post Evelyn.  Please never apologize for posting how you feel.  That what this place is for!  I know you can do this!  You have been through so much already.  If you stick with it I promise it will be a walk in the park.  xoxo

I watched some Stargate episodes and am now on 'dead point' again where I have nothing to do. Listening music now. From Sharon Kips :) (You raise me up)

But I am so fed up with it all. SO DONE.

Evelyn, have your written your own SOS reply on Jonny's thread?

It can be a really positive experience :)

Evelyn,

If I can do it you can do it.- little late for your SOS.. I am finding keeping busy is working for me.  Soon I will learn to relax

and sit down for now though busy busy busy..

Evelyn, by posting an SOS, it tells me that you truly want to be a non-smoker, so be proud of yourself for that: you are seeking help to keep your quit, that gives you like a 99.9% advantage!

I love herbal teas also, especially Celestial Seasonings... I even found an online place that I can buy Chocolate-Coconut herbal teas... lol... and it works, it's soothing.  Now here's a suggestion I've said a million times before and has proven to work: get a plastic straw, cut it to the size of a cig, and pretend-smoke it... take deep puffs off of it because all you will be getting is fresh air, no smoke, and your brain will be fooled into thinking you are smoking (because the "ritual" of smoking is the hardest part to deal with, it's why we crave in the first place). :)

Hang tough, you're doing it!!!  You're still a non-smoker!

Evelyn, today is isn't easy for me either.

I am begging you not to give up. Please.

Your only going to want to quit again and you'll have to go through this all over again. Let's keep on keeping on. Deal ?

Hi Evelyn, just not long back in from work, so sorry you have been struggling today, don't ever apologise for posting an SOS, we are all here for you and will support you through this as much as you need it, have a good cry when you can, I cried alot in the beginning of my quit and still do now if I need to, do you like music?  I often find when I am struggling it could be with my quit or just with daily life, I put on some music and dance, sing, move about, do housework to my music and sing at the top of my voice, neighbours might not like it, but it works hang in there Evelyn and please do not light up...

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
