Hello everyone....I have to admit yesterday was really difficult...but so happy I didn't give in.  It just boggles my mind to think that since I hadn't smoked that long this time(3 months) and smoked 10 or less that I would be going though this.  Just when I woke up this morning and had my first cup of coffee that cigarette was the first thing that came to mind.  I thought No, I don't smoke and went into my office to journal instead.  I do miss the times out on the back patio but I'm think I will take a book or something to replace the cigarette...I did this before.  Today I do feel better and more confident and I'm happy for that.  Thanks everyone for your support..

Unfortunately, the addiction is the addiction.  It does not care how long you have been smoking, again, or how many you smoked.  You are still going through withdrawal, and it can be tough. However, you are beating it!!  Good for you!!

...yesterday was really difficult...but so happy I didn't give in.  

 

I know exactly what you mean with this!!  There were many times early on when I was really feeling the junkie struggle but I didn't cave.  It was when I was past it, usually the next morning when I would be SOOOO relieved and happy that I was still a non-smoker!  So happy to not give in.

You are doing so great. I think a number of us will understand how utterly relieved you are that you held on - great job!!!

 

Make sure you have some treats for yourself lined up...even if they are small... it's good to see something tangible for your efforts :)

you can have everything you enjoyed before without the smoking, in the beginning its about replacing and reaffirming with good habits, taking a book outside is a great idea :)

 

you are doing wonderfully Ricki

Your doing fantastic, remember that it is an addiction, a habit that you have created and something you are used to doing repeatedly, your brain automatically associates smoking with certain patterns, its re-educating yourself and your brain that you no longer smoke and its not an option any more, before I can bet that you used to reach for a cigarette without even thinking about it because it was ingrained in your day to day routine, it takes time NOPE is wonderful and I repeat it sometimes every few seconds if needs be, xx

I carnt add much to what has been said....

I had to train my brain to do almost everything without smoking...a life long addiction....

I can do everything now ...smoke free.....and much better too....

Your doing great......nice and easy does it......

stick to nope and a small reward everyday the first week

a magazine, brush, music, something you normally pass on just to give a reward for doing the quit. Its work and needs paid...

 

as for missing any part of smoking, soon you will wonder where you had the time to do it.
