Happy to be a non-smoker :)

I ended up with this horrible respiratory infection/bronchitis going around.

My dr ordered a chest xray (it's always scary waiting for those results) and it was A-ok :)

I'm feeling better, but was started on meds for it. I told my dr that I felt awful like a smoker again! Hard to breathe, coughing.

Dr said, although he was sorry that I was sick, he has COPD patients who feel like that every day.

Am I happy to be a non-smoker?  Oh hell yea!

 Already starting to feel better.

I can only imagine how bad this could have been had I remained a smoker!

The benefits of being a non-smoker keep rolling in. Thank you, I will take them.

Anyone out there sitting on the fence?

There is no nicotine withdrawal that could EVER feel as bad as copd.

Quit while you can, it truly is a matter of life and death.

Sorry to hear you have been unwell, but good news your x-ray was clear, I always remember getting a cold and it always ended up in my chest and took weeks and week to clear, always coughing up yucky stuff, aint gonna do that no more!! xx

Sorry you're not feeling well Sandy, that is bad news. Sending healing. xx

Great news about your x ray, we do hold our breath us ex smokers, I get that. So pleased that part of your mind is put to rest for now and you can concentrate on getting better without the nasty smoke fumes. It makes you wonder how we all smoked through so many illnesses doesn't it!

good message for others too.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
